Cognizant Associate Role job Cognizant is an American multinational information technology services and consulting company. It is headquartered in Teaneck, New Jersey, United States. Cognizant is part of the NASDAQ-100 and trades under CTSH. It was founded as an in-house technology unit of Dun & Bradstreet in 1994,and started serving external clients in 1996.After a series of corporate re-organizations there was an initial public offering in 1998.Cognizant had a period of fast growth during the 2000s and became a Fortune 500 company in 2011; as of 2021, it is ranked 185.
Cognizant was established in 1994 in Chennai, India, as Dun & Bradstreet Satyam Software (DBSS), a 76:24 joint venture between Dun & Bradstreet and Satyam Computer Services, with Srini Raju as the founding CEO and MD.[9][10] It began with 50 employees in Chennai as Dun & Bradstreet’s in-house technology unit focused on implementing large-scale IT projects for Dun & Bradstreet businesses. In 1996, the company started pursuing customers beyond Dun & Bradstreet.

In 1996, Dun & Bradstreet spun off several of its subsidiaries including Erisco, IMS International, Nielsen Media Research, Pilot Software, Strategic Technologies and DBSS, to form a new company called Cognizant Corporation, headquartered in Chennai, India. Three months later, in 1997, DBSS renamed itself to Cognizant Technology Solutions. In July 1997, Dun & Bradstreet bought Satyam’s 24% stake in DBSS for $3.4 million.[ Headquarters were moved to the United States, and in March 1998, Kumar Mahadeva was named CEO.Operating as a division of the Cognizant Corporation, the company focused on Y2K-related projects and web development.

Description About this Job:

Design estimates (time /effort) based on the requirements analysis
In case of critical technology, create test scripts and seek review inputs from the test lead.
Understand and analyse the requirements (through review of requirement documents) to identify the testable requirements.
Prioritise the requirements based on the time required.
Prepare high level flow documents.
Organise and drive the requirement walkthrough session.
Prepare/ review the flow diagrams.
Seek clarification on the requirements from the customer.
Perform proof of concepts or evaluate different tools if required.
Document the test plan based on the understanding of test strategy (covering project details, items under scope, items out of scope, type of testing, assumptions, dependencies, risks foreseen, entry/ exit criteria) for each cycle.
Seek signoff on the test plan from the client.
Participate in a collaborative sprint goal definition session to determine what the team plans to achieve during the sprint.
Participation in status calls/ meetings between onsite and offshore teams to discuss the project status.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Requirement Gathering and Gap Analysis:

Understand business requirements through business workshops, one on one interviews.
Analyze business requirement documents.
Analyze gaps in order to meet business requirements.

Use shift left levers to find requirement deficiencies, such as:

Requirement Perform KT on user stories using Ambiguity Matrix, ADPART, and other conscious solution accelerators.

• Design time and effort estimates based on requirements analysis.
Create test scripts for any essential technology and ask the test lead for review feedback.
• Recognize the testable requirements by understanding and analysing the requirements (via a review of the requirement document).
• Sort the needs according to the amount of time needed.
• Create flow documents at a high level.
• Plan and oversee the session on requirement walkthrough.
Create and examine the flow diagrams.
• Ask the customer for clarification on the requirements.
Execute proof of concept tests or, if necessary, compare various tools.

Test planning and test strategy:

• For each cycle, record the test plan based on your understanding of the test strategy (including project specifics, items within and outside of scope, testing type, assumptions, dependencies, anticipated risks, and entry/exit criteria).
• Request the client’s approval of the test strategy.
• Provide information for the creation of the test plan, such as the quantity of test scenarios and test cases that will be used to estimate the test cycles and schedule, dependencies, etc., in addition to other dependencies from different teams, such as environment accessibility, third-party interfaces, and test data, etc.

Test Design Techniques (Design Guidelines, Instruments, and Patterns)

* Support the development team by helping them automate unit tests, identify environment dependencies, plan deployments, create release cycles, and test data dependencies, among other things.
• Identify and evaluate test cases for automation. • Create/review the test scenarios (made by the quality engineer).
* Execute using automation in Sprint.
* Carry out script maintenance for automation.
• Provide test lead with created test scripts for review.
• Run a pilot automation test to ensure that the test scripts are accurate.
