We are currently seeking a Strategic Enterprise Account Executive for a remote role based ideally in Delhi or Bangalore regions, India.

Position: Strategic Enterprise Account Executive Grade: 8

Responsibilities:

  • Report to an Area Sales Manager or Regional Director.
  • Provide support for strategic and large prospects in the GitLab ecosystem.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on wins and losses and share valuable insights with the team, including account managers, the marketing team, and the technical team.
  • Take ownership of your book of business.
  • Document the buying criteria, buying process, next steps, and owners.
  • Ensure pipeline accuracy based on evidence and data rather than hope.
  • Contribute to documenting improvements in our sales handbook.
  • Demonstrate account leadership and offer guidance throughout the pre- and post-sales process.
  • Engage in sales activities, including prospecting and developing opportunities within large and strategic accounts.
  • Ensure successful adoption of GitLab products through effective account management, working closely with pre- and post-sales engineering and support resources.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by contributing product ideas to our public issue tracker.
  • Travel when necessary to build relationships and close significant opportunities with accounts.
  • Generate qualified leads and develop new customers in collaboration with strategic channel partners to exceed quota expectations.
  • Continually expand knowledge of the industry and understand the competitive landscape.
  • Prepare activity and forecast reports as required.
  • Update and maintain the Sales database accurately.
  • Communicate customer needs to product managers and technical support staff, assisting in conveying their requirements effectively.
  • Utilize a consultative approach, discussing business issues with prospects, and developing formal quotes, sales proposals, or presentations that address their specific needs.
  • Respond to RFPs (Request for Proposals) and follow up with prospects accordingly.
  • Develop account plans tailored to customers’ unique business needs.
  • Foster and strengthen business relationships with both current accounts and new prospects.
  • Provide recommendations for effective marketing strategies.

Requirements:

  • Genuine desire to ensure customers derive significant value from their investment.
  • Proficiency in major account management and control.
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B software sales.
  • Experience in selling to large organizations.
  • Interest in GitLab and open-source software.
  • Ability to leverage existing relationships and proven sales techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly motivated, driven, and focused on achieving results.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Preferred experience with Git, Software Development Tools, and Application Lifecycle Management.
