WII MTS & Assistant Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

  1. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): Candidates must have completed High School from a recognized Board (State/Central).
  2. Assistant Grade – III: a) Candidates should have passed 10+2/XII or its equivalent from a recognized Board. b) Direct recruitment will be through a written competitive examination of 60 marks. c) Candidates must have a typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi typing on a computer of 40 marks.
  3. Technician:
  • Option 1: Candidates should have completed SSC/10th standard with 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board (State/Central) and hold an IT certificate of 2 years duration in the relevant trade.
    • Option 2: Candidates should have passed SSSC/HSC/12th in science with 60% marks in aggregate in the relevant field.
  • Technical Assistant (Field):
  • Option 1: Candidates must have a first-class B.Sc (Science) or a first-class Bachelor of Library science or equivalent.
    • Option 2: Candidates should possess a first-class diploma in Engineering/Technology of 3 years full-time duration or its equivalent.
  • Assistant Director (OL):
  • Option 1: Candidates should hold a Master’s Degree of a recognized university in Hindi/English with English/Hindi as a compulsory elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level.
    • Option 2: Candidates must have a Master’s Degree of a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi/English with Hindi/English medium and English/Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level.
    • Option 3: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree of a recognized university with Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other subject as a compulsory elective subject, along with a recognized diploma/certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central/State Government officers including GOI undertakings.
  • Senior Technical Officer:
  • Option 1: Candidates must have a first-class B.Sc (Science) or a first-class Bachelor of Library science or equivalent with 11 years’ experience in the relevant field.
    • Option 2: Candidates should hold a first-class diploma in Engineering/Technology of 3 years full-time duration or its equivalent with 12 years’ experience in the relevant field.
    • Option 3: Candidates should have an M.Sc or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks, or B.E/B.Tech or equivalent with 9 years’ experience in the relevant field.

Age Limit: (As on 30.06.2023)

  1. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): 18 years to 27 years
  2. Assistant Grade – III: 18 years to 27 years
  3. Technician: 18 years to 28 years
  4. Technical Assistant (Field): 18 years to 28 years
  5. Assistant Director (OL): 18 years to 27 years
  6. Senior Technical Officer: Not exceeding 40 years

The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and for Ex-Servicemen as per the Government of India rules. Candidates will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as per Government rules. Refer to the WII official Notification 2023 for more details.

Salary Details:

  1. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): Level-1
  2. Assistant Grade – III: Level-2
  3. Technician: Level-2
  4. Technical Assistant (Field): Level-6
  5. Assistant Director (OL): Level-10
  6. Senior Technical Officer: Level-11

WII MTS & Assistant Selection Process 2023: The selection process for WII MTS & Assistant may include the following steps:

  1. Written Examination
  2. Proficiency Test

Application Fee/Exam Fee for WII MTS & Assistant: Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 700/- (Rs. 500/- Application fee + Rs. 200/- Processing fee) through a Demand Draft or Pay order from any nationalized bank drawn in favor of Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. No other mode of payment of the application fee is acceptable. The fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. However, SC/ST/PWD and all female candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee of Rs. 500/- only against the reserved posts. They are only required to pay a processing fee of Rs. 200/- through a Demand Draft or Pay Order from any nationalized bank drawn in favor of Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.

  • The application should be completed in all respects and submitted along with self-attested photocopies of certificates of educational qualification (technical/professional), experience, age proof, claim of belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS, etc. in a sealed envelope indicating the name of the post applied for on the top of the envelope in capital letters.
  • Candidates should submit the application in the prescribed format (Annexure1) completed in all respects, along with self-attested copies of all relevant documents, experience, caste certificate, etc. to the office of the Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun-248001, latest by 30.06.2023.
