The National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD) has announced vacancies for the following positions:

- Prosthetist & Orthotist (Consultant)
- Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist) (Consultant)
- Clerk/Typist (Consultant)
- Total – Various
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- Assistant Professor (Special Education) (Consultant): Essential: Master’s degree with M. Ed (Special Education) from any RCI-recognized institution, along with a minimum of 5 years of teaching/research experience in the relevant field. Ph.D. in the rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities is desirable.
- Lecturer Occupational Therapy (Consultant): Essential: Master’s in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institute, with a minimum of 3 years of teaching/research experience in the field of rehabilitation. Possession of any RCI-recognized qualification is desirable.
- Prosthetist & Orthotist (Consultant): Essential: Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics from a recognized institute, registration with RCI, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist) (Consultant): Essential: B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) or equivalent, 2 years of relevant experience, and registration with RCI.
- Clerk/Typist (Consultant): Essential: Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification, typing speed of 35 wpm with computer knowledge, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the concerned area.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years as of 15.02.2024, with age relaxation as per Government Rules.
Salary Details:
- Assistant Professor (Special Education) (Consultant): Rs. 75,000/-
- Lecturer Occupational Therapy (Consultant): Rs. 60,000/-
- Prosthetist & Orthotist (Consultant): Rs. 50,000/-
- Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist) (Consultant): Rs. 50,000/-
- Clerk/Typist (Consultant): Rs. 25,000/-
Selection Process:
NIEPMD will conduct a selection process involving a Merit List and Interview.
Application Fee:
Applicants for the specified positions must enclose an application fee of Rs. 500/- in the form of a Demand Draft favoring Director, NIEPMD, payable at Chennai. SC/ST/PwDs and female candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.
