Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the following educational qualifications and age limits (as of July 1st, 2024):

Educational Qualifications:

• SI (Master) & SI (Engine Driver):
  • 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board/university.
  • Specific certificate requirements based on the position:
    • SI (Master): 2nd Class Master Certificate issued by a recognized authority.
    • SI (Engine Driver): 1st Class Engine Driver Certificate issued by a recognized authority.
• HC (Master):
  • Matriculation from a recognized board or equivalent.
  • Serang Certificate.
• HC (Engine Driver):
  • Matriculation from a recognized board or equivalent.
  • 2nd Class Engine Driver Certificate.
• HC (Workshop):
  • Matriculation from a recognized board or equivalent.
  • Specific trade-related diplomas from a recognized institution. (e.g., Diploma in Motor Mechanic for HC (Workshop) Mechanic (Diesel/Petrol Engine))
• Constable (Crew):
  • Matriculation from a recognized board or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in operating boats below 265 HP.
  • Ability to swim in deep water without assistance.

Age Limits:

• SI (Master) & SI (Engine Driver): 22 – 28 Years
• HC (Master), HC (Engine Driver), HC (Workshop), Constable (Crew): 20 – 25 Years

Relaxation for Age Limit:

• Scheduled Caste (SC) & Scheduled Tribe (ST) Candidates: 5 years relaxation
• Other Backward Classes (OBC) Candidates: 3 years relaxation

Additional Considerations:

• Reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/ Ex-Servicemen (Ex-SM) candidates will be as per Government of India directives.

Salary Details:

The BSF offers competitive salaries based on the position and experience level. Here’s a breakdown of the pay scales:

• SI (Master) & SI (Engine Driver): Rs.35000 – 112400/- (Level – 6)
• HC (Master), HC (Engine Driver), HC (Workshop): Rs.25500 – 81100/- (Level – 4)
