Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
  • At least seven years of experience practicing criminal law.
  • Excellent understanding of criminal law.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in legal research.
  • Thorough understanding of ethical duties of defense counsel.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others.
  • Must have handled at least 20 criminal trials in Sessions Court.
  • IT knowledge with proficiency in work.
• Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience practicing criminal law.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Complete understanding of ethical duties of defense counsel.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others.
  • Excellent writing and research skills.
  • IT knowledge with proficiency in work.  
• Office Assistant/Clerk:
  • Graduation.
  • Basic word processing skills and the ability to operate a computer.
  • Typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Ability to take dictation and enter data.
  • Knowledge of file maintenance and processing.
• Office Peon (Munshi/Attendant):
  • Passed 8th or 10th Standard.
  • Capability to clean and perform hospitality-related tasks.
  • Ability to clean the office before the commencement of office hours.
  • Willingness to perform any other tasks assigned by the Legal Services Authority.
