Eligibility Criteria for BSF Head Constable (Radio Operator) and Head Constable (Radio Mechanic):

To apply for the post of Head Constable (Radio Operator) or Head Constable (Radio Mechanic) in BSF, the candidates must meet the following educational qualification criteria:

1. Head Constable (Radio Operator):

Candidates must have passed Intermediate or 12th standard or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University/Institution as a regular student with a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Alternatively, candidates can have a Matriculation or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board, along with a two-year Industrial Training Institute Certificate (ITI) in Radio and Television or Electronics Engineering or Computer Operator and Programming Assistant or Data Preparation and Computer Software or General Electronics Engineering or Data Entry Operator from a recognized Institute.

2. Head Constable (Radio Mechanic):

Candidates must have passed Intermediate or 12th standard or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University/Institution as a regular student with a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Alternatively, candidates can have a Matriculation or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or Institute, along with a two-year Industrial Training Institution Certificate (ITI) in Radio and Television or General Electronics or Computer Operator and Programming Assistant or Data Preparation and Computer Software or Electrician or Fitter or Information Technology and Electronics System Maintenance or Comn Equipment Maintenance or Computer Hardware or Network Technician or Mechatronics or Data Entry Operator from a recognized Institute.

Age Limit: (As of 12th May 2023)

The age criteria for applying for the BSF HC (RO) & HC (RM) posts are as follows:

(a) UR candidates should not be below 18 years or over 25 years of age. (b) OBC candidates should not be below 18 years or over 28 years of age. (c) SC/ST candidates should not be below 18 years or over 30 years of age.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories may receive age relaxation as per Government rules. Please refer to the official BSF Notification 2023 for more details.

Salary Details:

The Head Constables (Radio Operator) and (Radio Mechanic) will be placed at Level – 4 in the Pay Matrix, with a pay scale of Rs. 25500 – 81100/- as per 7th CPC.

BSF HC (RO) & HC (RM) Selection Process 2023:

The selection process for the BSF HC (RO) & HC (RM) posts may include the following phases:

1. First Phase: Written Examination
2. Second Phase Examination: Physical Standards Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Documentation
3. Third Phase: Medical Examination

Application Fee/Exam Fee for BSF HC (RO) & HC (RM):

Examination fees must be paid by male candidates from the General (UR)/EWS and OBC categories. The exam fee is @ 100/- only for each post and must be paid through the SB1 Online Payment Gateway using any of the following modes:

• Internet Banking (INS) • Credit/Debit cards. • UPI • Wallet

Candidates belonging to exempted categories/female candidates (i.e., candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, BSF Candidates, Ex-Servicemen, and Compassionate Appointment) are not required to pay the examination fee. However, all candidates will be charged a “Service Charge” of 40/- plus taxes = 47.2/- by the CSC (Common Service Centre).
