Accounts Receivable Accountant We are looking for an Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant to play a pivotal role in driving HackerRank’s growth. The Accounts Receivable (A/R) Specialist plays a crucial role in the financial health of HackerRank by ensuring timely and accurate management of customer accounts. This position requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including invoice verification, accounts receivable recordkeeping, cash management, collections, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Invoice Verification and Processing:
  • Gather and meticulously review invoices for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Verify supporting documentation to ensure proper authorization and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices promptly.
• Accounts Receivable Management:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable records, including aging reports and customer balances.
  • Apply customer payments, credits, and adjustments to the appropriate accounts.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely collections.
  • Identify and account for uncollectible amounts in accordance with company policies.
  • Reconcile account discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Cash Management:
  • Perform daily cash management activities, such as recording bank deposits and updating cash receipt logs.
  • Post cash receipts to the accounts receivable sub-ledger accurately and efficiently.
  • Reconcile cash accounts and identify any discrepancies.
• Collections:
  • Proactively contact customers via phone, email, and mail to collect outstanding payments.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to improve cash flow.
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with customers while ensuring timely payment.
• Financial Analysis:
  • Prepare analytical reports and ratio analyses related to accounts receivable.
  • Provide insights into collection trends, performance metrics, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Support management in making informed decisions based on financial data.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other accounting and finance team members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Support inventory management and cost accounting processes as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in financial calculations.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial terminology.
