They should also have a minimum of four years of post-qualification relevant work experience, as mentioned in the job description.
- Junior Engineer (S&T) – Candidates must have a Diploma/B.E./B. Tech in Electronics & Communications/ Electronics/ Computer/ Information Technology Engineering from a government-recognized university/institute. They should also have a minimum of four years of post-qualification relevant work experience, as mentioned in the job description.
- Assistant Manager (Civil) – Candidates must have a Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a government-recognized university/institute. They should also have a minimum of four years of post-qualification relevant work experience, as mentioned in the job description.

The upper age limit can be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs and 13 years for OBC PWDs) as per the government of India rules. The salary details for the various positions are as follows:
- Technician (S&T): Rs. 35,000 – 1,10,000 (NE-2)
- Junior Engineer (S&T): Rs. 40,000 – 1,25,000 (NE-4)
- Assistant Manager (Civil): Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000 (E-2)
- Assistant Manager (Planning): Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000 (E-2)
- Assistant Manager (Human Resource): Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000 (E-2)
- Junior Manager (Civil): Rs. 40,000 – 1,40,000 (E-1)
- Junior Manager (Electrical): Rs. 40,000 – 1,40,000 (E-1)
The NHSRCL JE & Technician Selection Process for 2023 will consist of three stages: a Computer Based Test (CBT), a Personal Interview, and a Medical Examination based on the medical standard specified for the respective post. However, depending on the number of applications received, the management may choose to include or exclude any of the selection methods.

National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is a government-owned corporation that was established in 2016 to implement India’s first high-speed rail project, popularly known as the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project. The corporation is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and operation of the high-speed rail project in India. In this article, we will explore the history, objectives, and significance of NHSRCL in India’s transportation sector.
History of NHSRCL
The idea of introducing high-speed trains in India was first proposed in 2009 by the then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee. However, the project did not materialize due to various reasons such as technical feasibility, funding, and land acquisition issues. In 2014, the Narendra Modi government proposed the MAHSR project, which was approved by the Indian cabinet in December 2015.
The NHSRCL was incorporated on 12th February 2016 as a special purpose vehicle to implement the MAHSR project. The corporation is jointly owned by the central government and the state governments of Maharashtra and Gujarat, with an equity participation of 50%, 25%, and 25%, respectively. The project is being implemented with the technical and financial assistance of the Japanese government.
Objectives of NHSRCL
The primary objective of NHSRCL is to develop and operate a high-speed rail network in India that connects major cities and reduces travel time. The MAHSR project is the first step towards achieving this objective, with plans to extend the network to other parts of the country in the future.
The high-speed rail project aims to provide a comfortable, safe, and reliable mode of transportation to passengers while also reducing the country’s carbon footprint. It is expected to have a positive impact on the economy by generating employment opportunities, boosting tourism, and enhancing connectivity between major cities.
Significance of NHSRCL
The NHSRCL is significant for India’s transportation sector as it marks a major shift from conventional trains to high-speed trains. The high-speed rail network will offer a range of benefits, including reduced travel time, increased passenger comfort, and improved safety. The MAHSR project, in particular, will reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad from the current 7 hours to just 2 hours, with trains running at a speed of 320 km/hour.
The project is also significant from an environmental perspective as it will reduce the country’s carbon footprint. According to estimates, the high-speed rail network will save around 6.8 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, equivalent to planting 30 lakh trees.

The project is expected to create around 90,000 direct and indirect job opportunities during the construction phase and around 20,000 jobs during the operation phase.
Challenges faced by NHSRCL
The NHSRCL has faced several challenges in implementing the MAHSR project, including land acquisition, funding, and technical feasibility issues. The project requires the acquisition of around 1,400 hectares of land, which has been a major challenge for the corporation due to opposition from farmers and landowners.
Funding has also been a major challenge, with the estimated cost of the project being around Rs. 1.1 lakh crore. The project is being funded through a mix of equity and debt, with the Japanese government providing a soft loan of Rs. 88,000 crore at an interest rate of 0.1% per annum.
Technical feasibility has also been a challenge, as the project involves building a high-speed rail network in a country that has never had one before.
