TN TRB BEO Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

To be eligible for the position of Block Educational Officer, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

(i) Possess a degree from any University recognized by the University Grant Commission or its equivalent, along with a B.Ed. degree from any University recognized by the University Grant Commission or its equivalent. The degree should be in one of the subjects such as Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biology, Geography, or History.

Please refer to Part III – Section 1(b), Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Elementary Education Subordinate Service, Section 48-A Annexure (Referred to in Rule 6 (b) (i)), T.N. Government Gazette No.36, Date.30.01.2020 and [G.O.(Ms). No.12, School Education, EE1(1), 30.01.2020] for further information.

(ii) Candidates who do not possess the prescribed educational qualifications as of the date of notification are not eligible to apply. Candidates should ensure their eligibility criteria before applying. It should be noted that appearing for the examination does not guarantee eligibility; the Board will verify the candidate’s eligibility during the Certificate Verification stage (if called for).

Equivalence of Qualification: Candidates claiming equivalence of qualification to the prescribed qualification must provide evidence of equivalence in the form of a Government Order. Those who have applied for equivalence Government Orders should submit their equivalence order during the Certificate Verification stage. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of their candidature after due process. For more details on equivalence of qualification, refer to Annexure – IV of this Notification and the note under para. 9 of the “Instructions to the Candidates”

Qualification Criteria:

(i) Candidates who have completed a one-year duration course (Double degree/Dual degree, etc.) are not eligible to apply for this recruitment.

(ii) Candidates who have obtained any of the required qualifications (SSLC, HSC, U.G. Degree, and B.Ed. degree) simultaneously are not eligible to apply for this recruitment.

(iii) In cases where the Special Rules prescribe a Diploma or a Degree or a Post Graduate Degree as a qualification for appointment, the following criteria apply:

(a) A diploma obtained after completion of S.S.L.C. or Higher Secondary Course [10+3 (3 Years Diploma)] or [10+2+2 (Lateral Entry)]; or

(b) A degree obtained after completion of S.S.L.C. and Higher Secondary Course (10+2+3 or more) as per Explanation-I of Section 25 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016.

Candidates must have obtained Graduation with Bachelor of Education after completion of S.S.L.C., Higher Secondary Course or its equivalent, following the (10+2+3+1) or (10+2+3+2) or (10+2or3+3+1) or (10+2or3+3+2) pattern from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission.

(iv) Candidates who do not possess the prescribed qualifications as of the date of notification are not eligible to apply for the examination. Candidates should ensure their eligibility criteria before applying. All qualifying certificates, including the PSTM Certificate, should have been obtained on or before the last date for submission of the filled-in online application announced in the recruitment notification.

E. Adequate knowledge of the official language of the State, namely, Tamil:

Age Limit:

Candidates must not have completed 40 years of age as of July 1, 2023, in accordance with sub-section (8) of section 20 of the T.N. Government Servants (Conditions of Services) Act, 2016.

Provided that for candidates belonging to Backward Classes, Backward Class Muslims, Most Backward Classes or Denotified Communities, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Destitute widows of all castes, the age limit prescribed above shall be increased by five years for direct recruitment to any of the categories specified in these rules.

1. Block Educational Officer (BEO) – Rs.36900-116600 (Level-18)

TN TRB BEO Selection Process 2023:

TN TRB will follow the following process to select the candidates:

1. Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test
2. Written Examination
3. Certificate Verification

Application Fee/Exam Fee for TN TRB BEO:

a) The examination fee is Rs.600/- for all candidates except SC, SCA, ST, and differently-abled persons. For SC, SCA, ST, and differently-abled persons, the examination fee is Rs. 300/-. Candidates are advised to enter the correct Community/Person with Disability category. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded.

b) An SMS alert regarding successful payment will be sent to the registered mobile phone of the candidate.

c) Online payment should be made only through the Payment Gateway (Net banking/Credit Card/Debit Card).
