BDL Project Engineer Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. Project Engineer (Mechanical):

• Essential Qualification: Candidates must hold a First-Class (60%) degree in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering (4 years) or Integrated M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent from an AICTE approved Institute/University.
  • Disciplines of Engineering considered as equivalent by BDL include: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Mechanical Production and Tool Engineering, Production Engineering, Production Technology Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Aerospace Engineering, and Aeronautical Engineering.Field Experience: Minimum one-year post-qualification experience in areas such as component manufacturing, assembly of systems and sub-systems, quality assurance processes, and experience in Microsoft Office Tools-based drafting. Exposure to ERP-SAP modules is advantageous.
  • Desirable Skills: Proficiency in CAD Software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, MATLAB), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Material Science and Selection, Manufacturing Processes, 3D Modeling and Simulation, Product Development, Machine Design, Mechanical Testing and Analysis, Robotics and Automation, Stress Analysis, Project Management, Technical Documentation, Quality Control and Assurance, Regulatory Compliance (e.g., ASME, ISO), Manufacturing Principles in Engineering.

• Project Engineer (Electronics/Computer Science/Electrical):

• Project Engineer (Electronics):

• Essential Qualification: First-Class (60%) in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering (4 years) or Integrated M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent from an AICTE approved Institute/University.Disciplines of Engineering considered as equivalent by BDL include: Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Design & Technology Engineering, Applied Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and Electronics & Control Engineering.Field Experience: Minimum one-year post-qualification experience in areas like Radio Frequency (RF) subsystems, Embedded Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Power Electronics Design, Assembly, Testing, and Quality Assurance processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools-based drafting and exposure to ERP-SAP modules are advantageous.Desirable Skills: Experience in Embedded systems, Analog & Digital electronics, RF, Power Electronics, schematic/troubleshoot knowledge, system design, LabVIEW, Control Systems, FPGA, Test Procedures & Data Acquisition, C, C++, VC++, and software development knowledge.

• Project Engineer (Electrical):

• Essential Qualification: First-Class (60%) in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering (4 years) or Integrated M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent from an AICTE approved Institute/University.Disciplines of Engineering considered as equivalent by BDL include: Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineering.Field Experience: Minimum one-year post-qualification experience in areas such as operation, cabling work, control panels, understanding of electrical drawings, measurements, billings, and Quality Assurance processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools-based drafting and exposure to ERP-SAP modules are advantageous.

• Project Engineer (Computer Science):

• Essential Qualification: First-Class (60%) in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering (4 years) or Integrated M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent from an AICTE approved Institute/University.Disciplines of Engineering considered as equivalent by BDL: Computer Science Engineering.Field Experience: Minimum one-year post-qualification experience in software development using languages such as C++, JAVA, PYTHON, QT, and PLSQL, along with experience in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics Technologies, etc.Desirable Skills: Experience in developing Application Software for various weapon systems using programming tools, software testing tools knowledge, and various programming languages.

Age Limit:

1. For Project Engineer positions, the maximum age limit for Un-Reserved/EWS Categories is 28 years as of the date of the Walk-in Interview.
2. Age relaxation:

• 05 years for SC & ST
  • 03 years for OBC-NCL05 years for PwBD (UR)08 years for PwBD (OBC-NCL)10 years for PwBD (SC/ST)05 years for Ex-Servicemen & Commissioned Officers (including ECOs/SSCOs) with a minimum of 05 years of service in the Armed Forces and fulfilling other conditions prescribed by the Government of India.
  • 05 years for candidates who were ordinarily domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989, with submission of domicile certificate.

Salary Details:

1. Project Engineer (Mechanical):

• 1st Year: Rs. 30,000/-
  • 2nd Year: Rs. 33,000/-
  • 3rd Year: Rs. 36,000/-
  • 4th Year: Rs. 39,000/-

• Project Engineer (Electronics/Computer Science/Electrical):

• 1st Year: Rs. 30,000/-
  • 2nd Year: Rs. 33,000/-
  • 3rd Year: Rs. 36,000/-
  • 4th Year: Rs. 39,000/-

BDL Project Engineer Selection Process 2023:

The walk-in selection process will take place according to the schedule at the Aeronautical Society of India, Suranjan Das Road, Opposite Engine Division, Binna Mangala, New Tippasandra, Bengaluru, Karnataka – 560075. The landmark is near the Vivekananda Metro Station.

How to Apply for BDL Project Engineer Position:

• Interested candidates (Indian Nationals only) who meet the required qualifications and relevant experience should arrive at the venue on the scheduled dates mentioned above by 08:30 hrs. Please note that candidates will NOT be allowed to enter after 14:00 hrs.
• Candidates should download the ‘APPLICATION FORM’ from the BDL website [www.bdl-india.in – Careers Application for Walk-in-Interview]. The completed Application Form, along with self-attested copies (one set photocopy of each document) and ORIGINAL documents, must be brought for the ‘WALK-IN INTERVIEW’ on the scheduled date and time.
• The following documents should be included: i) SSC/Xth Class Memo ii) Intermediate/XII/Diploma in Engg. – Provisional Certificate & Marks Memo iii) BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engg. or equivalent – Provisional Certificate & Marks Memo iv) Category Certificate – SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PwBD/EX-Servicemen v) Experience Certificate/Offer of Appointment and Last Pay Slip vi) Salary Proof document – Provident Fund Statement/ESI Membership/Salary Account Bank Statement, etc. vii) Wherever CGPA/OGPA/CPI/DGPA or letter grade in a qualifying degree (Essential Qualification) is awarded, equivalent percentage of marks should be indicated in the Application Form as per norms adopted by the University/Institute, and a documentary proof/certificate to this effect should be submitted by the candidate from the University/Institute.
