Coal India Limited (CIL) is inviting applications for the following Management Trainee (MT) positions:
Vacancy Details:
- Management Trainee – Mining: 351 positions
- Management Trainee – Civil: 172 positions
- Management Trainee – Geology: 37 positions
Total: 560 positions
Eligibility Criteria for CIL Management Trainee (MT):
Educational Qualifications:
- Management Trainee – Mining: Candidates must hold a degree in Mining Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Management Trainee – Civil: Candidates must hold a degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Management Trainee – Geology: Candidates must have an M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, or Applied Geophysics with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Note:
- The degrees in Mining, Civil, Geology, or related fields should be from a university or institute recognized by the appropriate statutory authority in India and should be a regular full-time course.The minimum qualifying marks for General (UR), OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates are 60%, while for SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates, a 5% relaxation is given, making it 55%. If CGPA/GPA is used, a percentage conversion certificate issued by the University/Institute is required.
For Appearing Candidates:
- Candidates in their final semester/year/trimester of the 2022-23 academic session who have appeared in GATE 2023 are eligible to apply. However, they must submit their final pass results of the minimum required qualification before the final selection or during document verification.
- Candidates should clear all subjects of the final year/semester/trimester in the academic year 2022-2023 in a single attempt and have cleared all previous years/semesters/trimesters by the date of the final results declaration.
- In addition to other required documents, final year/semester/trimester candidates in the academic year 2022-2023 must upload their latest year/semester/trimester mark sheet/marks transcript of the relevant minimum educational qualification.
Age Limit (As of 31.08.2023):
- Management Trainee – Mining: 30 years
- Management Trainee – Civil: 30 years
- Management Trainee – Geology: 30 years
- The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PwD candidates & 13 years for OBC PwD candidates), and as per the Government of India rules. Detailed relaxation information can be found in the CIL official Notification 2023.
Salary Details:
- Management Trainee – Mining: Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000/-
- Management Trainee – Civil: Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000/-
- Management Trainee – Geology: Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000/-
Selection Process for CIL Management Trainee (MT) 2023:
a. Eligible candidates must have appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE -2023). Based on GATE-2023 Scores/Marks and requirements, candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise, in a 1:3 ratio in order of merit for further selection.
b. In case of a tie in GATE Score, the following norms will be adhered to for finalizing the merit panel:
- Applicants scoring higher percentage marks/CGPA in the minimum eligible qualification will be placed higher in the merit list.
- If there is still a tie after considering Sl. No. (i) above, the applicant who is senior in age will be placed higher.
c. The final merit list will be prepared for each discipline based on GATE 2023 Scores/Marks. GATE Scores/Marks of 2023 will be the only valid ones; scores prior to or after GATE-2023 will not be considered for this recruitment.
Application Fee/Exam Fee for CIL Management Trainee (MT):
a. Candidates belonging to GENERAL (UR)/OBC (Creamy Layer & Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS category are required to pay a non-refundable fee of ₹1,000/- plus applicable GST, totaling ₹1,180/- (Rupees One Thousand One Hundred Eighty only).
b. SC/ST/PwBD/Employees of Coal India Limited and its Subsidiaries are exempt from paying the application fee.
c. The application fee must be paid online, and no other payment modes will be accepted. CIL will not be responsible if a candidate deposits the fee in the wrong account. Once paid, the fee will not be refunded under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are advised to verify their eligibility before applying. Please note that CIL does not require any additional charges/fees other than the mentioned application fee.
