- Assistant Professor Grade I:
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
- Relevant Experience: At least three years after Ph.D. or six years in total (not counting Ph.D. enrollment period) after obtaining an M.Tech. degree.
- Other Essential Requirements: Two papers in SCI journals outside of Ph.D. work, one ongoing sponsored project for candidates from academia, and two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.
- Additional Desirable Requirements: One ongoing Ph.D. supervision, one patent, experience in industry or R&D lab of repute, and supervision of M.Tech., M.Sc., or B.Tech. projects on live industrial problems.
- Associate Professor:
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
- Relevant Experience: At least six years after Ph.D. or nine years in total (not counting Ph.D. enrollment period), out of which three years should be after Ph.D., and three years at the level of Assistant Professor with AGP of Rs. 8000 or its equivalent in 7th CPC at a reputable university, R&D lab, or relevant industry.
- Other Essential Requirements: Four papers in SCI journals after Ph.D., one Ph.D. guided as sole or principal supervisor plus one continuing, two ongoing projects or one ongoing plus one completed, and two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate, and academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed short term courses.
- Additional Desirable Requirements: One or more patents, supervising two or more students for Ph.D., strong liaison with industry, and offering courses through the application of ICT.
As a candidate for the position of Professor with a Ph.D., you should have at least 10 years of relevant experience, with 7 of those years coming after completing your Ph.D.
Additionally, you should have spent a minimum of four years at the Associate Professor level in a respected institution.
It is also essential that you have supervised two Ph.D. degrees as a sole or primary supervisor throughout your career.
In the past four years, you should have published three papers in SCI Journals, completed a high-value sponsored or consultancy project, engaged in academic outreach activities equivalent to two self-financed courses as a coordinator and primary instructor, and completed two experiments or computational design projects that were added to the teaching laboratories as appropriate.
While not mandatory, some desirable qualifications include having one or more patents, supervising more than three Ph.D. students, creating eLearning materials, offering at least one self-financed short-term course every year, having a strong industry liaison, providing significant support to institute management, and completing high-value sponsored or consultancy projects.
Computer Science and Engineering:
- For Bachelor’s degree, B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Electronics and Communication Engineering or a relevant stream.
- For Master’s degree, M.E./M.Tech./M.Des. in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Communication Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security or a relevant stream.
- For Ph.D. degree, a degree in Computer Science and Engineering or related topics.

Revised Age Limit:

The selection process consists of two or three phases, which are as follows:
