Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
(i) Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent professional degree, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale. (ii) Master’s Degree in the faculties of Arts, Sciences, Fine Arts, Languages, Commerce, Education, Management Science of this University or its equivalent. (iii) A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently-Abled or those who obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.
Fellowship: Rs.7,000/- per month and Rs.5000/- per annum as Contingency grant
Selection Process:
The University of Madras may conduct the selection process as follows:

The date of the interview will be communicated via email by the respective Head of the Departments.

- Completed applications with necessary enclosures, along with the online payment receipt [Application fee to be paid online under the General Payments Category (Other General Payments)] or a Demand Draft for Rs.200/- drawn in favor of “The Registrar, University of Madras,” should be sent to the heads of the respective Departments in the respective campuses.
