North Central Railway (NCR) is inviting applications for various sports positions. Check out the details below:

The recruitment is open for various sports fields under two pay scales:
A. PB-I Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000 (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level – 02/03)
B. PB-I Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2400/2800 (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level – 04/05)
NCR Sports Person Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- For GP 1900/2000 (7th CPC Pay Matrix Level – 02/03) – Intermediate or Equivalent Examination from a Recognized Board.
- For GP 2400/2800 (7th CPC Pay Matrix Level – 04/05) – Degree or equivalent from a recognized university/institution. For Technical Posts, candidates must have passed Act Apprenticeship/ITI approved by SCVT/NCVT.
- For appointment against sports quota in Technician–III, the minimum educational qualification should be 10th pass. However, the training period will be 3 years unless they pass ITI qualification in the relevant Trade, in which case it will be 6 months.
Sports’ Norms For Recruitment:
A. For PB-I Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000 (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level – 02/03)
Candidates should have:
- Represented the Country in any Category-B Championships/events or
- At least 3rd Position in any Category-C Champions/events or
- At least 3rd Position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Champions or
- At least 3rd Position in National Games organized under the Indian Olympic Association or
- At least 3rd Position in All India Inter University Championship or
- 1st Position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
B. For PB-I Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2400/2800 (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level – 04/05)
Candidates should have:
- At least 3rd Position in any Category-B Championships/events (except Gold Medal in Asian Games).
Age Limit: 18 – 25 years as of 01.01.2024. No age relaxation is permissible.
NCR Sports Person Selection Process 2023:
The recruitment will be based on trials and assessment of sports achievements. Candidates found fit in trials will be considered for the next stage. The HQ office will finalize the recruitment process.
Application Fee/Exam Fee for NCR Sports Person:
- For all candidates except those mentioned in Para 2 below – Rs. 500/- (with a provision for refunding Rs. 400/- to those who appear in the trial examination).
- For SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PWDs, Women, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes – Rs. 250 (with a provision for refunding the same to those who appear in the trial examination).
- Economic Backward Classes candidates (annual family income less than Rs. 50,000/-) must upload a certificate.
