TNPSC Combined Research Assistant Eligibility Criteria (as of 26.06.2023):
Educational Qualification:
Applicants should possess the following qualifications or their equivalent from a recognized University or Institution approved by the University Grants Commission:
- Research Assistant in Statistics: A Master’s Degree from any recognized University or Institution with Statistics or Mathematics as the main subject. Candidates with experience in Statistical Investigation or analysis of Statistical work for at least one year will be given preference.
- Research Assistant in Economics: A Master’s Degree in First or Second class with Economics as the main subject.
- Research Assistant in Geography: A Master’s Degree in First or Second class with Geography as the main subject.
- Research Assistant in Sociology: A Master’s Degree in First or Second class with Sociology or Social Work as the main subject.
- Research Assistant in Evaluation and Applied Research Department: A first-class Post-Graduate Degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Agricultural Economics, or Public Administration.
Note: The required postgraduate degree qualification should have been obtained in the order of studies: SSLC+HSC or its equivalent+UG Degree+PG Degree from recognized Institutions, as specified under Section 25 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016.

- Research Assistant in Evaluation and Applied Research Department: Rs. 36,900 – 1,16,600/- (Level 18)

The selection process for TNPSC Combined Research Assistant may include the following stages:
- Research Assistant in Statistics, Research Assistant in Economics, Research Assistant in Geography, Research Assistant in Sociology: Written Exam (Objective Type) (CBT Method), Certificate Verification
- Research Assistant in Evaluation and Applied Research Department: Written Exam (Objective Type) (CBT Method), Interview & Certificate Verification
