CSIR-NIIST is seeking applications for the following positions:

Eligibility Criteria for CSIR-NIIST Project Associates:

Educational Qualifications:

1. Project Associate-II – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (Metallurgical/Materials Engg./Mechanical Engg.) from a recognized University or Equivalent with 2 years R&D/Industrial experience.
2. Project Associate-I – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (Metallurgical/Materials/Mechanical Engg.) from a recognized University or Equivalent.
3. Project Associate-I – B-Tech in Materials Science or M.Sc. in Materials Science from a recognized University or Equivalent.
4. Project Associate-II – B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing/Metallurgy/Materials Science/Design Engineering from a recognized University or Equivalent with 2-year experience.
5. Scientific Administrative Assistant – Graduate in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Mathematics/Biotechnology from a recognized University or Equivalent.
6. Project Associate-I – M.Sc. in Polymer Chemistry/Polymer Science/Biopolymer Science from a recognized University or Equivalent.
7. Senior Project Associate – Ph.D. in Food Technology/Food Process Engineering/Food Science/Food Engineering/Agricultural Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology from a recognized University or Equivalent.
8. Project Associate-I – B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering OR Master’s Degree in Ecology/Environmental Studies or related branches from a recognized University or Equivalent. (Desirable: Working knowledge/experience in life cycle assessment studies.)
9. Project Associate-I – Master’s Degree in Biotechnology/Food Science/Food Technology/related area OR Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology in Food Engineering/Food Technology/Chemical Engineering/Food Process Engineering from a recognized University or Equivalent.
10. Project Assistant – Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University or Equivalent.

Age Limit: (As on 11.09.2023)

1. Project Associate-II – 35 Years
2. Project Associate-I – 35 Years
3. Project Associate-I – 35 Years
4. Project Associate-II – 35 Years
5. Scientific Administrative Assistant – 50 Years
6. Project Associate-I – 35 Years
7. Senior Project Associate – 40 Years
8. Project Associate-I – 35 Years
9. Project Associate-I – 35 Years
10. Project Assistant – 50 Years

The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and for Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules. Candidates’ relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per Government Rules. Refer to the CSIR-NIIST official Notification 2023 for more details.

Salary Details:

1. Project Associate-II – Rs. 35,000/- +18% HRA for those with a valid CSIR-UGC NET Score (including lectureship) or valid GATE score, Rs. 28,000/- +18% HRA for those who do not fulfill the above.
2. Project Associate-I – Rs. 31,000/- +18% HRA for those with a valid CSIR-UGC NET Score (including lectureship) or valid GATE score, Rs. 25,000/- +18% HRA for those who do not fulfill the above.
3. Project Associate-I – Rs. 31,000/- +18% HRA for those with a valid CSIR-UGC NET Score (including lectureship) or valid GATE score, Rs. 25,000/- +18% HRA for those who do not fulfill the above.
4. Project Associate-II – Rs. 35,000/- +18% HRA for those with a valid CSIR-UGC NET Score (including lectureship) or valid GATE score, Rs. 28,000/- +18% HRA for those who do not fulfill the above.
5. Scientific Administrative Assistant – Rs. 18,000/- + 18% HRA
6. Project Associate-I – Rs. 31,000/- +18% HRA for those with a valid CSIR-UGC NET Score (including lectureship) or valid GATE score, Rs. 25,000/- +18% HRA for those who do not fulfill the above.
7. Senior Project Associate – Rs. 42,000/- +18% HRA
8. Project Associate-I – Rs. 31,000/- +18% HRA for those with a valid CSIR-UGC NET Score (including lectureship) or valid GATE score, Rs. 25,000/- +18% HRA for those who do not fulfill the above.
9. Project Associate-I – Rs. 31,000/- +18% HRA for those with a valid CSIR-UGC NET Score (including lectureship) or valid GATE score, Rs. 25,000/- +18% HRA for those who do not fulfill the above.
10. Project Assistant – Rs. 20,000/- + 18% HRA

Selection Process:

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an ONLINE INTERVIEW. The date and time of the online interview will be notified on the CSIR-NIIST website in due course.
