Eligibility Criteria for POWERGRID Diploma Trainees:

Educational Qualification:

1. Trainee – Electrical (EE): Full-Time Regular Three Years Diploma in relevant discipline of engineering from a recognized Technical Board / Institute.

• Discipline: Electrical / Electrical (Power)/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Systems Engineering / Power Engineering (Electrical)
  • Minimum Percentage of Marks: 70%

• Trainee – Electronics (EC): Full-Time Regular Three Years Diploma in relevant discipline of engineering from a recognized Technical Board / Institute.

• Discipline: Electronics /Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Electrical Communication / Telecommunication Engg.
  • Minimum Percentage of Marks: 70%

• Trainee – Civil (CE): Full-Time Regular Three Years Diploma in relevant discipline of engineering from a recognized Technical Board / Institute.

• Discipline: Civil Engg.
  • Minimum Percentage of Marks: 70%

Note: Higher technical qualifications like B.Tech. / BE / M.Tech. / ME, etc., with or without a Diploma, are not allowed. Qualifications acquired through distance mode will not be considered.

Age Limit: (As on 23.09.2023)

• Trainee (Electrical/ Civil/ Electronics): 18 to 27 years
• Upper age limit relaxations apply for specific categories as per government rules.

Salary Details:

• Selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 27,500/- per month during the one-year training period.
• Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be absorbed as Junior Engineer Gr-IV (S1) in the Supervisory category with a pay scale of Rs. 25,000 – 3% – 1,17,500 (IDA).
• The compensation package includes various allowances and benefits.

Selection Process for POWERGRID Diploma Trainees 2023:

The selection process may include:

1. Written Test (Computer Based Test)
2. Medical Examination

Exam Center in Tamil Nadu: Chennai

Application Fee/Exam Fee:

• SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM: Nil
• Others: Rs. 300/-
