Eligibility Criteria for SBI Specialist Officers:
Educational Qualifications:
- Specialist (Green Finance):
- Qualification (as of 31.03.2023):
- Basic Qualification: A degree in Engineering (B.E.) in Environmental Engineering from an Indian University/Institute recognized/approved by Government bodies/AICTE/UGC or a Master’s degree in an environment-related field such as M.Sc./M.Tech./Master’s in Environmental Science/Environmental Science & Engineering/Earth & Climate Science/Energy Technology/Climate Science & Technology from a University/Institute recognized/approved by Government bodies/AICTE/UGC.Other Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a degree, specialization, or experience in climate adaptation/climate mitigation areas.
- Experience (as of 31.03.2023): A minimum of 36 months’ post-qualification experience in handling projects in the field of Environmental and related areas/understanding various climate mitigation technologies and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) risk management, especially in sectors like power, steel, cement. Experience in working with financial institutions/banks/rating companies is an added advantage.
- Specialist (ESG Finance):
- Qualification (as of 31.03.2023):
- Basic Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. Engineering Degree from institutes recognized/approved by Government bodies/AICTE/UGC with experience in ESG or a Master’s degree in an environment-related field such as M.Sc./M.Tech./Master’s in Environmental Science/Environmental Science & Engineering/Earth & Climate Science/Energy Technology/Climate Science & Technology from a University/Institute recognized/approved by Government bodies/AICTE/UGC.Other Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with post-graduation degrees specializing in Environmental Science or having related certifications from recognized institutes. Preference will also be given to those with experience in ESG-related actions and reporting.
- Experience (as of 31.03.2023): A minimum of 36 months’ post-qualification experience in ESG-related actions and reporting, GHG (Greenhouse Gas) accounting principles/methodologies, technical risk assessment of various climate mitigation technologies, Greenhouse gas emission reporting, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Rating, ESG Consulting, and conducting Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) of projects. Experience in working directly with development/functional teams is preferred.
- Specialist (Renewable Energy):
- Qualification (as of 31.03.2023):
- Basic Qualification: A degree in Engineering (B.E.) in Environmental Engineering from an Indian University/Institute recognized/approved by Government bodies/AICTE/UGC or a Master’s degree in an environment-related field such as M.Sc./M.Tech./Master’s in Environmental Science/Environmental Science & Engineering/Earth & Climate Science/Energy Technology/Climate Science & Technology from institutes recognized/approved by Government bodies/AICTE/UGC.Other Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with a degree or specialization in Renewable Energy or having experience in Renewable energy, energy efficiency, or electric mobility.
- Experience (as of 31.03.2023): A minimum of 36 months’ post-qualification experience in the Renewable Energy Sector (Solar, wind, hydro, biogas, waste to energy). Experience in working with financial institutions/banks/rating companies is an added advantage.
Age Limit:
- Specialist (Green Finance): Minimum 25 years, Maximum 35 years.
- Specialist (ESG Finance): Minimum 25 years, Maximum 35 years.
- Specialist (Renewable Energy): Minimum 25 years, Maximum 35 years.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per Government Rules. Refer to SBI’s official 2023 Notification for more details.
Salary Details:
- Specialist (Green Finance): Contractual (MMGS-III).
- Specialist (ESG Finance): Contractual (MMGS-III).
- Specialist (Renewable Energy): Contractual (MMGS-III).
SBI Specialist Officers Selection Process 2023:
Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum qualification and experience requirements does not guarantee an interview invitation. A shortlisting committee formed by the Bank will determine the parameters for shortlisting, and then an appropriate number of candidates, as decided by the Bank, will be selected for interviews. The Bank’s decision to call candidates for interviews is final, and no correspondence will be entertained on this matter.
Interview: The interview will carry 100 marks, and the qualifying marks will be set by the Bank. No correspondence will be entertained regarding interview results.
Merit List: Selection will be based on interview scores in descending order. In case multiple candidates score the same cutoff marks, they will be ranked by age in descending order in the merit list.
Application Fee/Exam Fee for SBI Specialist Officers:
- General/EWS/OBC: Rs. 750/-
- SC/ST/PwBD: Nil
- Applicants are required to pay the Application Fee as indicated in the table above through online payment mode only.
