Eligibility Criteria for SERC Chennai Project Associate Positions:
To be considered for the following positions, candidates must meet the following educational and experience requirements:
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 333 PA-I) –
Candidates must possess a B.E/B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent qualification. It is desirable to hold an M.E/M.Tech/M.S degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent qualification.
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 344 PA-I) –
Candidates must possess a B.E/B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent qualification. It is desirable to hold an M.E/M.Tech/M.S degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent qualification.
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 346 PA-I) –
Candidates must possess a B.E/B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent qualification. It is desirable to hold an M.E/M.Tech/M.S degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent qualification.
- Project Associate – II (Civil/Structural Engineering) (SERB-DST PA II) –
Candidates must possess a B.E/B.Tech degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent qualification, as well as 2 years of experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or S&T Organisations and scientific activities and services.
It is desirable to hold an M.E/M.Tech/M.S degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized University/Institute or an equivalent qualification with a first-class in the graduate degree, as well as a GATE score.
Candidates must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship), or GATE, OR
- A selection process through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions, OR
- A stipend of Rs. 28,000/- HRA for those who do not fall under the above criteria.
The age limit for the following positions at SERC Chennai is 35 years:
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 333 PA-I)
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 344 PA-I)
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 346 PA-I)
- Project Associate – II (Civil/Structural Engineering) (SERB-DST PA II)
However, candidates may receive relaxation in the upper age limit according to government rules. For further information, please refer to the official notification for SERC Chennai in 2023.
The salary details for the positions are as follows:
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 333 PA-I) – Rs. 25,000/-
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 344 PA-I) – Rs. 25,000/-
- Project Associate – I (Civil) (SSP 346 PA-I) – Rs. 25,000/-
- Project Associate – II (Civil/Structural Engineering) (SERB-DST PA II) – (I) Rs. 35,000/- + HRA for selected scholars.
SERC Chennai will select candidates for the positions through a walk-in interview process.
