Name of Posts: Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT) Total Vacancies: 1768
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known); or
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002; or
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.); or
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-years Diploma in Education (Special Education); or
- Graduation & 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known);
Applicants must have Passed the Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper – I.
Note: A person with D.Ed (Special Education) qualification shall undergo, after appointment, an NCTE recognized 6 months special program in Elementary Education.
Age Limit: (As on 01.07.2024)
- The upper age limit for Applicants belonging to the General Category for appointment by direct recruitment to this selection is 53 years of age as of 01.07.2024.
- The upper age limit for Applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class Muslims, Backward Classes, MBC/DNC, and DW of all castes is 58 years of age as of 01.07.2024.

- Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT) – Rs. 20600 – 75900 (Level –10)

- Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test
- Written Examination & Certificate Verification
