The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has announced vacancies for the position of Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT), with a total of 1768 posts available. Eligible candidates interested in these positions must adhere to the specified eligibility criteria outlined below.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-years Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation & 2-years Diploma in Elementary Education.
Additionally, applicants must have passed the Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper – I. Individuals with a D.Ed (Special Education) qualification must undergo an NCTE recognized 6-month special program in Elementary Education after appointment.
Age Limit:
As of July 1, 2024:
- General Category: Maximum age limit is 53 years.
- Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class Muslims, Backward Classes, MBC/DNC, and DW of all castes: Maximum age limit is 58 years.
Salary Details:
The salary for Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT) ranges from Rs. 20,600 to Rs. 75,900 (Level –10).

- Written Examination & Certificate Verification
