Eligibility Criteria for EMRS TGT & Hostel Warden:
Educational Qualification:
- Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in English / Hindi / Third Language / Mathematics / Science / Social Science:
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have completed a four years integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT or any other NCTE recognized institution in the concerned subject. Alternatively, candidates can possess a Bachelor’s Honors Degree in the concerned subject, and they should have studied the requisite subjects for at least 2 years in the 3-year degree course. Another option is a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/Institute in the concerned subject, and the candidate should have studied the requisite subjects throughout all three years of the degree course.
Note:
- For TGT (Hindi): Candidates should have Hindi as a subject in all three years of their Degree course.
- For TGT (English): Candidates should have English as a subject in all three years of their Degree course.
- For TGT (Maths):
(i) Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics along with Physics and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, or Statistics.
(ii) In case a university provides only two subjects out of the six mentioned above in the final year of graduation, candidates should have studied Maths and Physics in the final year and Maths, Physics, and Chemistry/Electronics/Computer Science/Statistics in the first and second years of graduation.
(iii) Candidates with a B.Sc. degree with Honors in Maths must have studied Physics and Chemistry/Electronics/Computer Science/Statistics in any two years of the course. Candidates with B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics or Chemistry are not eligible for the post of TGT (Maths).
- For TGT (Science): Candidates should have studied Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry throughout all three years of their graduation. In case of universities providing only two subjects in the final year, candidates should have studied any two subjects out of Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry in the final year and all three subjects in the first and second years of graduation. If candidates have an Honors Degree in any of the mentioned three subjects, they must have studied the other two subjects in any two years of the course.
- For TGT (Social Studies):
(i) Candidates should have studied any two subjects out of the following subject combinations at the graduation level: (a) History with Geography/Economics/Political Science OR (b) Geography with History/Economics/Political Science (where one subject must be either History or Geography).
(ii) History/Geography should have been studied for all three years in graduation.
(iii) In case of an Honors Degree in History, candidates should have studied Geography/Economics/Political Science in any two years of the course. Similarly, for an Honors degree in Geography, candidates should have studied History/Economics/Political Science in any two years of the course. Candidates with B.A. (Honors) in Economics or Political Science are not eligible for the post of TGT (Social Studies).
- For TGT (Third Language): Candidates should have the concerned Language as a subject or elective subject in all three years of their Degree Course.
- Additionally (for all TGTs): Candidates must have passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by CBSE following the NCTE guidelines.
- B.Ed. Degree* is also required for TGT positions, except for candidates with a 4-year integrated degree course as mentioned in sub clause (C) above.
- TGT (Music):
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with Music from a recognized University/Institution.
- TGT (Art):
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have a Degree in Fine Arts/Crafts from a recognized University. Alternatively, they should possess a B.Ed. Degree in Fine Arts from a Regional College of Education.
- TGT (Physical Education Teacher):
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from a recognized institution/university.
- TGT (Librarian):
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have a Degree in Library Science from a recognized Institution/University. Alternatively, candidates can possess a Graduation degree with a one-year diploma in Library Science from a recognized Institution.
Hostel Warden (Male):
- Essential Qualification: Candidates must have completed a four years integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT or any other NCTE recognized institution in the concerned subject. Alternatively, candidates can possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university/institute.

Age Limit: (As of 18.08.2023)
- Trained Graduate Teachers – Maximum age of 35 years.
- Hostel Warden (Male) – Maximum age of 35 years.
- Hostel Warden (Female) – Maximum age of 35 years.
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and as per Government of India rules for Ex-Servicemen. Candidates will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as per Government Rules. For more details, refer to the EMRS official Notification 2023.
Salary Details:
- Trained Graduate Teachers (English / Hindi / Mathematics / Science/Social Studies/3rd Language/ Librarian) – Rs. Level 7 (Rs. 44900 – 142400/-).
Trained Graduate Teachers (Music/Art/PET (Male)/PET (Female)) – Rs. Level 6 (Rs. 35400- 112400).
- Hostel Warden (Male) – Rs. Level 5 (Rs. 29200 – 92300).
- Hostel Warden (Female) – Rs. Level 5 (Rs. 29200 – 92300).

EMRS will conduct the selection process according to the following steps:
- Exam (Objective Type)
- Language Competency Test
