To be eligible for the SSC CGL exam as of August 1, 2023, candidates must meet the following educational qualifications:
For the position of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute.
In addition, it is desirable to have qualifications such as Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
Direct recruits must pass the “Subordinate Audit/Accounts Service Examination” in their respective branches during the probationary period to be confirmed and regularly appointed as Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
For the position of Junior Statistical Officer, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized university or institute, with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level.
Alternatively, candidates can have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
For the position of Statistical Investigator Grade-II, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized university or institute.
Candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all three years or all six semesters of their graduation course.
For the position of Research Assistant in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute.
It is desirable to have a minimum of one-year research experience in any recognized university or recognized research institution and a degree in Law or Human Rights from a recognized university.
For all other posts, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Candidates who are in their final year of graduation may also apply, but they must possess the essential qualifications on or before the cut-off date, i.e., August 1, 2023.

The age limit for candidates is relaxed as per the Government of India rules. For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years. For OBC candidates, the relaxation is 3 years, while for Persons with Disabilities, it is 10 years.
For SC/ST PWD candidates, the relaxation is 15 years, and for OBC PWD candidates, it is 13 years. Ex-Servicemen can also avail of age relaxation as per the Government’s rules.
The upper age limit relaxation for candidates will be provided in accordance with Government rules. For further details, refer to the official notification released by SSC in 2023.

SSC may follow the following process to select the candidates.

The application fee for SSC CGL is ₹100 (one hundred Indian rupees) which can be paid online through BHIM UPI, net banking, or credit/debit cards like Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, and RuPay.
Alternatively, candidates can also pay the fee in cash at SBI branches by generating an SBI Challan.
However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), Women candidates, and Ex-servicemen (ESM) who are eligible for reservation are exempted from paying the application fee.
Candidates can pay the online fee until 04-05-2023 (23:00 hours).
However, those who wish to pay the fee in cash through SBI challan must generate the challan before 04-05-2023 (23:00 hours) and pay it at the SBI branches during the bank’s working hours until 05-05-2023.
