SSC MTS & Havaldar Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have successfully completed the Matriculation Examination or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Board on or before the cut-off date, i.e., August 1, 2023.
Age Limit: (As of August 1, 2023)
For MTS and Havaldar in CBN (Department of Revenue):
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 25 years (Candidates should be born between August 2, 1998, and August 1, 2005)
For Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and some posts of MTS:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 27 years (Candidates should be born between August 2, 1996, and August 1, 2005)
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PWD). For SC/ST PWD candidates, the relaxation is 15 years, and for OBC PWD candidates, it is 13 years. Ex-Servicemen candidates are eligible for relaxation as per the Government of India rules. Salary Details:
- Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS): Pay Level-1 as per the 7th Pay Commission’s Pay Matrix.
- Havaldar (CBIC & CBN): Pay Level-1 as per the 7th Pay Commission’s Pay Matrix.
SSC MTS & Havaldar Selection Process 2023:
The selection process for SSC MTS & Havaldar may include the following stages:
- Computer Based Examination
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar)
Exam Centers in Tamil Nadu: Chennai, Coimbatore, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Salem, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli & Vellore
The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in Hindi, English, and 13 regional languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Application Fee/Exam Fee for SSC MTS & Havaldar:
- Fee payable: Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only).
- Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of the fee.
- The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards, or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.
- Online fee payment can be made by candidates until July 22, 2023 (23:00). Candidates opting for cash payment through SBI Challan can make the payment at SBI Branches within the bank’s working hours until July 24, 2023, provided they generate the Challan by July 23, 2023 (23:00).
