UCSL Invites Applications for the Following Positions

UCSL Supervisor Eligibility Criteria:

Supervisor – SUPERVISOR (Hull – Quality Control)

Educational Qualification:

a) 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a State Board of Technical Education. Post-diploma qualification in NDT will be an added advantage. Or

b) ITI in welding trade from a state-recognized industrial training institute.

Experience:

• For educational qualification (a), 7 years of experience in a shipyard, a yard engaged in construction of offshore platforms, or a registered EPC company in the welding function. The last 2 years of experience should be in a supervisory capacity in the fabrication/quality control department.
• For educational qualification (b), 15 years of experience in industries as mentioned above, in the fabrication and welding department, out of which the last 3 years should be in a supervisory capacity. The number of welding qualification tests passed (positions 3g or above, base materials, etc.) during the tenure as a welder will be considered as an added qualification.

SUPERVISOR (Electrical Quality Control)

Educational Qualification: a) 3-year Diploma in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics/Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a State Board of Technical Education. b) ITI in Electrician/Electronic Mechanical trade from a state-recognized Industrial training institute.

Experience:

• For educational qualification (a), 7 years post-qualification experience in Electrical-QC in a Ship Building yard, Ship Repair yard, or a yard engaged in construction/repair of offshore platforms or a registered EPC company.
• For educational qualification (b), 15 years of experience in the above functions in a similar industry as mentioned above, out of which the last 3 shall be in a supervisory capacity.
• Desirable: Good communication skills in English and Hindi.

SUPERVISOR (HSE)

Educational Qualification:

1. 3-year Diploma in any stream of engineering.
2. One Year Diploma in Industrial Safety Engineering, preferably from any Government Institution.

Experience:

• Five years of practical work experience in Health safety and Environment in Shipyard/Marine/Construction/Engineering industry/Oil & Gas/Manufacturing Industry.
• Desirable: Good communication in Hindi and English.

SUPERVISOR (Hull – Fabrication)

Educational Qualification: a) 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a State Board of Technical Education. b) ITI in sheet metal worker trade /bench fitter/Fitter trade from a state-recognized industrial training institute.

Experience:

• For educational qualification (a), 7 years of experience in a shipyard or a yard engaged in the construction of offshore platforms, or a registered EPC company in fabrication. The last 2 years of experience should be in a supervisory capacity in the fabrication function.
• For educational qualification (b), 5 years of experience in an organization as mentioned above, out of which the last 3 years should be in a supervisory capacity.

SUPERVISOR (Hull – Welding)

Educational Qualification: a) 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a State Board of Technical Education. b) ITI in sheet metal worker trade /bench fitter/fitter trade from a state-recognized industrial training institute.

Experience:

• For educational qualification (a), 7 years of experience in a shipyard or a yard engaged in the construction of offshore platforms, or a registered EPC company in the welding function. The last 2 years of experience should be in a supervisory capacity in the welding department.
• For educational qualification (b), 15 years of experience in a shipyard or heavy engineering industry, out of which the last 3 years should be in a supervisory capacity. The number of welding qualification tests passed (positions 3g or above, base materials, etc.) during the tenure as a welder will be considered as an added qualification.

SUPERVISOR (Hull-Outfit)

Educational Qualification: a) 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a State Board of Technical Education. b) ITI in welding trade from a state-recognized industrial training institute.

Experience:

• For educational qualification (a), 7 years of experience in a shipyard or a yard engaged in the construction of offshore platforms, or a registered EPC company in the welding function. The last 2 years of experience should be in a supervisory capacity in the welding department.
• For educational qualification (b), 15 years of experience in the type of industry as above, out of which the last 3 years should be in a supervisory capacity. The number of welding qualification tests passed (positions 3g or above, base materials, etc.) during the tenure as a welder will be considered as an added qualification.

SUPERVISOR (Piping)

Educational Qualification: a) 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a State Board of Technical Education. b) ITI in Plumber trade from a state-recognized industrial training institute.

Experience:

• For educational qualification (a), 7 years of experience in a shipyard or a yard engaged in the construction of offshore platforms, or a registered EPC company in Pipe fabrication/erection. The last 2 years of experience should be in a supervisory capacity in the piping function.
• For educational qualification (b), 15 years of experience in the pipe fabrication and erection department of a similar industry as above, out of which the last 3 should be in a supervisory capacity.

SUPERVISOR (Electrical)

Educational Qualification: a) 3-year Diploma in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics/Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a State Board of Technical Education. b) ITI in Electrician/electronic Mechanic trade from a state-recognized Industrial training institute.

Experience:

• For educational qualification (a), 7 years of experience in a shipyard or a yard engaged in the construction of offshore platforms, or a registered EPC company in the Electrical/automation/control function. The last 2 years of experience should be in a supervisory capacity in the Electrical/automation/control function.
• For educational qualification (b), 15 years of experience in the above functions in a similar industry as above, out of which the last 3 years should be in a supervisory capacity.

SUPERVISOR (Finance)

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University.

Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in the relevant field, out of which 2 years as Supervisor/Accountant of Finance functions in a Shipyard, Engineering Company, Commercial Organization, or Government/Semi-Government Company/Establishment. Experience shall be in matters relating to the following functions: Verification of invoices with respect to passing of bills and their processing, verification of various price comparison statements as related to tenders and its accounting of EMD, and release of the same, working knowledge of Taxation-GST/Income Tax, preparation of financials & various MIS Reports.

• Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Applications like SAP, MS Project, MS Office, etc.

SUPERVISOR (HR)

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (other than Fine Arts/Performing Arts) or Science or Commerce or Computer Applications or Bachelor of Social Work, Business Administration, with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University.

Experience: Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience in matters relating to human resource/Labour welfare/contract labour act, office work, maintenance of files, registers, and records in a Public/Private sector/Commercial Organization.

• Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Applications like MS Office, etc.

SUPERVISOR (Painting)

Educational Qualification: The candidate should have passed a minimum Matriculation examination. Any higher educational qualification will be an added advantage. Any certification in surface protection will also be considered as an added advantage.

Experience: Should have 15 years of practical experience as a blaster/painter/supervisor in surface preparation and painting field, out of which the last 3 years should be in a supervisory capacity. Shipyard experience is a value-added.

2. Office Assistant, Booth Operators –

OFFICE ASSISTANT (Finance)

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration, with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University.

Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience in matters relating to office work, data entry, record and report generation, maintenance of files, registers, and records in a Public or Private sector Commercial Organization.

• Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Applications like MS Office, Excel, Tally.

OFFICE ASSISTANT (Operations, Planning, Materials, QC&HSE, Design)

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (other than Fine Arts/Performing Arts) or Science or Computer Applications with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized University.

Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience in matters relating to office work, data entry, record and report generation, maintenance of files, registers, and records in a Public/Private sector Commercial Organization.

• Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Applications like MS Office, Excel.

BOOTH OPERATOR (Painting)

Educational Qualification: ITI in sheet metal worker/electrician/fitter/painter trade from a State Board of Technical Education.

Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in any manufacturing/construction industry, where semi-automatic equipment is employed for production.

• Desirable: Experience in blasting and painting will be an added advantage.

Age Limit: (As on 20.09.2023)

1. Supervisor – not to exceed 45 years
2. Office Assistant, Booth Operators – not to exceed 30 years

• The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s), and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Candidates’ relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per Govt. Rules. Please refer to the UCSL official Notification 2023 for more information.

Salary Details:

1. Supervisor – Rs. 40,650/-
2. Office Assistant – Rs. 18,000/- Booth Operators – Rs. 22,170/-

UCSL Supervisor Selection Process 2023:

Applicants meeting the requirements shall be shortlisted and will be called for the I phase selection process on a stipulated date. UCSL reserves the right to scrutinize applications for the posts and prepare a shortlist of candidates based on meeting eligibility requirements ascertained through the certificates submitted, and only such shortlisted candidates shall be permitted to attend the selection process.

(i) Applicants should go through the User Manual and FAQ published on the website (Career pageà UCSL, Malpe) before filling out the online application. The application consists of two phases – One-time Registration and Submission of an application against the applicable post. Applicants should not submit more than one application. Once submitted, the application shall be final.

(ii) Applicants meeting the notified requirements may complete the One-time Registration on the SAP Online portal and submit their application. The facility to submit their application can be accessed through the website (Career pageà UCSL, Malpe) from 20.09.2023 to 10.10.2023. Applications submitted directly or by any other mode shall not be accepted.
