Educational Qualifications:
- Project Engineer-I (Mechanical) – Candidates must possess a full-time BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc Engg (4 years) degree in Mechanical discipline from an AICTE approved Institute / University. General, OBC, and EWS candidates should have secured 55% and above, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates need a Pass Class in the mentioned qualification. Post Qualification Experience (as of 01.09.2023): A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience after qualification is required to apply for the Project Engineer-I position in the respective discipline.
- Project Engineer-I (Electrical) – Aspiring candidates should hold a full-time BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc Engg (4 years) degree in Electrical discipline from an AICTE approved Institute / University. The eligibility criteria include 55% and above for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, and Pass Class for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates. Post Qualification Experience (as of 01.09.2023): Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience post-qualification is mandatory for applying to the Project Engineer-I role in the relevant discipline.
- Project Officer -I (HR) – Candidates should possess a full-time MBA/MSW/PGDM degree in HR discipline from an AICTE approved Institute / University. General, OBC, and EWS candidates need to have secured 55% and above, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates require a Pass Class in the specified qualification. Post Qualification Experience (as of 01.09.2023): To apply for the Project Officer -I (HR) position, a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification relevant industry experience is mandatory. Age Limit: (As of 01.09.2023)
- Project Engineer-I (Mechanical) – Maximum age limit of 32 years
- Project Engineer-I (Electrical) – Maximum age limit of 32 years
- Project Officer -I (HR) – Maximum age limit of 32 years The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and for Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules. Candidates will receive age relaxation as per Government Rules. For more details, refer to the official BEL Notification 2023.
Remuneration Details:
Project Engineer-I/ Project Officer -I will initially engage for a 3-year period, extendable up to a maximum of 1 additional year (4 years maximum), based on project requirements and performance evaluations. Candidates will receive consolidated remuneration of Rs. 40,000/-, Rs. 45,000/-, Rs. 50,000/-, and Rs. 55,000/- for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of the contract, respectively. Additionally, a consolidated sum of Rs. 12,000/- per year will be provided to cover expenses like medical insurance premium, attire allowance, stitching charges, footwear allowance, etc. This extra amount will be disbursed in two installments: the first after the first month’s salary following joining, and the second after completing 6 months from the date of joining.
BEL Project Engineer Selection Process 2023:
The selection process for BEL may consist of the following stages:

- Interview Application Fee/Exam Fee for BEL Project Engineer:
Candidates applying for Project Engineer-I positions (Electrical & Mechanical) need to remit the application fee via DD in favor of “Bharat Electronics Limited” payable at Navi Mumbai. SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Here are the details: Project Engineer-I/ Project Officer -I: General, EWS, and OBC candidates should pay an amount of Rs. 472/- (Application Fee – Rs. 400/- plus 18% GST).
Application Process for BEL Project Engineer Position:
Applicants should download the application format from the website.Complete the downloaded application form (including a recent color passport-sized photograph affixed in the provided column) and attach it with the DD and self-attested Xerox copies of the following documents:
(i) SSLC/SSC/10th Standard marks card or other valid proof of Date of Birth. (ii) B.Sc.(Engg.)/B.E./B.Tech. Engineering Degree (as applicable), clearly indicating the discipline, percentage of marks, and class obtained. (iii) All semester marks cards or consolidated marks cards. (iv) CGPA conversion document (if applicable) into a percentage. (v) BE/ B.TECH / AMIE/ GIETE/MBA/MSW/PGDM Degree Certificate. (vi) Caste Certificate (if belonging to OBC/EWS/SC/ST). (vii) Certificate from the employer regarding experience. (viii) Certificate supporting PwBD category (if applicable). (ix) Any other relevant certificates.
