CIPET, the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology, has various job vacancies for technical and administrative assistants. Each job has specific eligibility criteria based on educational qualifications and relevant work experience.
For the position of Assistant Technical Officer in various fields such as Skill Development, Processing, Testing, Design, Tool Room, and CAD/CAM, candidates must have a full-time first-class Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Technology or equivalent, with two years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Alternatively, they can have a full-time first-class Master’s degree in Polymer Science with a specialization in relevant fields of Polymers/Plastics and three years of post-qualification experience.
Candidates must have at least three years of experience in pay matrix level-06 under various government or private organizations, and they should possess essential skill sets such as knowledge of Quality Management, good communication skills, hands-on experience in sophisticated machinery/equipment, and experience in planning and executing production or job order schedules while ensuring customer satisfaction.
For the position of Assistant Officer (F&A), candidates should have a full-time first-class Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a full-time first-class MBA in Finance or a full-time first-class Master’s degree in Commerce, with three years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Candidates must have at least three years of experience in pay matrix level-06 under various government or private organizations, and they should possess essential skill sets such as sound knowledge of Government Financial Rules, Budgeting, and Cost Accounting practices, the ability to implement electronic and modern methods of bookkeeping, and experience in finalizing financial budgets and accounts, including internal/statutory audit.
For the position of Technical Assistant Gr. III in Tool Room, Testing, Processing, or Design (CAD-CAM-CAE), candidates should have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DPMT/DPT), Postgraduate Diploma in Plastics Processing & Testing (PGDPTQC/PGDPPT/PDPMD) with CAD/CAM, with one year of relevant post-qualification experience. Alternatively, they can have an ITI certification in Fitter/Turner/Machinist with two years of relevant post-qualification experience.
For the position of Administrative Assistant Gr.III, candidates should have a graduation degree in any discipline with at least 52% marks from a recognized university and a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience in handling office communications.
They should have good typing skills in English (35 wpm) or Hindi (30 wpm) and proficiency in computer operations, including knowledge of MS Office, noting, and drafting. Desirable qualities for this position include strong oral and written communication skills and experience in administration, establishment, personnel, and placement matters.
For the position of Accounts Assistant Gr.III, candidates should have a full-time first-class graduation degree in Commerce with working knowledge of Tally software and two years of relevant post-qualification experience. Desirable qualities for this position include working knowledge of direct and indirect taxation, knowledge of government purchase procedures, and working knowledge of PFMS software.
- The position of Assistant Technical Officer (Skill Development/ Processing / Testing / Design / Tool Room / CAD/CAM) has an upper age limit of 32 years.
- The position of Assistant Officer (F&A) has an upper age limit of 32 years.
- The position of Technical Assistant Gr. III (Tool Room /Testing / Processing/ Design (CAD-CAM-CAE)) has an upper age limit of 32 years.
- The position of Administrative Assistant Gr.III has an upper age limit of 32 years.
- The position of Accounts Assistant Gr.III has an upper age limit of 32 years.
The upper age limit for the above positions is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-Servicemen as per the rules set by the Government of India.

Salary Details:
- Assistant Technical Officer (Skill Development/ Processing / Testing / Design / Tool Room / CAD/CAM) – The VII CPC Pay Matrix Level 7 & Basic Pay is Rs.44900/- per month.
- Assistant Officer (F&A) – The VII CPC Pay Matrix Level 7 & Basic Pay is Rs.44900/- per month.
- Technical Assistant Gr. III (Tool Room /Testing / Processing/ Design (CAD-CAM-CAE)) – The VII CPC Pay Matrix Level 3 & Basic Pay is Rs.21700/- per month.
- Administrative Assistant Gr.III – The VII CPC Pay Matrix Level 3 & Basic Pay is Rs.21700/- per month.
- Accounts Assistant Gr.III – The VII CPC Pay Matrix Level 3 & Basic Pay is Rs.21700/- per month.
The selection process for the CIPET Technical Assistant position may include a written test and a skill/practical test.
