The Role:
At Logically, our fact-checkers play a vital role in researching and crafting original, high-quality fact-check reports in adherence to stringent editorial standards and tight deadlines.
Our audience spans from website readers to private and public sector clients, and we also work closely with major social media platforms to assist in moderating misinformation and disinformation.
As a Fact-Checker based in India, you will be an integral part of our diverse team of fact-checkers, contributing to our mission of combating online misinformation and disinformation.
You will have the opportunity to participate in various fact-checking and editorial initiatives and contribute to the development of our fact-checking technology and products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify misleading claims using various platforms and techniques.
- Produce original, high-quality fact-check reports following strict editorial guidelines and deadlines.
- Create news reports and long-form articles related to mis/disinformation.
- Collaborate on content moderation and fact-checking projects with social media platforms.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Strong understanding of India’s political and media landscape.
- 0-2 years of professional newsroom, fact-checking, or editorial experience.
- Ability to research and write original, high-quality fact-check reports under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in identifying and flagging misleading claims through various platforms and techniques.
- Proactive in pitching ideas for fact-checking misleading claims.
- Strong analytical skills, maintaining impartiality and critical thinking when addressing complex and sensitive topics.
- Quick grasp of new and intricate information.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with fact-checking techniques and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) methods.
- Knowledge of international fact-checking guidelines and codes like IFCN, EFCSN, etc., and staying updated on best practices.
- Understanding of the political and media landscape in India.
