Indian Coast Guard Recruitment for Various Posts
The Indian Coast Guard is inviting applications for the following positions:

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD & DB) and Yantrik:
Educational Qualifications:
- Navik (General Duty) – Must have passed Class 10th from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
- Navik (Domestic Branch) – Should have completed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
- Yantrik (Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics) – Must have passed Class 10th from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and hold a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering with a duration of 03 or 04 years approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Alternatively, candidates can have completed Class 10th & Class 12th from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) “AND” hold a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering with a duration of 02 or 03 years approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Note: The list of equivalent diplomas for recruitment in the Yantrik cadre in Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics & Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering branches is as mentioned below.
Age Limit:
- Navik (General Duty) – Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 22 years old. Candidates should be born between 01 May 2002 to 30 Apr 2006 (both dates inclusive) when applying for the posts of Navik (DB), Navik (GD), and Yantrik.
Note: An upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy) candidates is applicable only if the posts are reserved for them.
Salary Details:
- Navik (General Duty) – Basic pay of Rs. 21,700/- (Pay Level-3) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on the nature of duty/place of posting as per prevailing regulations.
- Navik (Domestic Branch) – Basic Pay of Rs. 21,700/- (Pay Level-3) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on the nature of duty/place of posting as per prevailing regulations.
- Yantrik (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics) – Basic pay of Rs. 29,200/- (Pay Level-5). In addition, you will receive Yantrik pay @ Rs. 6,200/- plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances based on the nature of duty/place of posting as per prevailing regulations.
Selection Process for Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD & DB) and Yantrik 2023:
The Indian Coast Guard may follow the following process to select candidates:
- Stage-I (Computer-Based Examination)
- Stage-II (Assessment/Adaptability Test, Physical Fitness Test, Document Verification & Initial Medicals Examination)
- Stage-III Final Merit List (Document Verification, Final Medicals at INS Chilka & Submission of Original Documents, Police Verification, and Other Associated Forms)

Application Fee/Exam Fee for Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD & DB) and Yantrik:
Candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from the payment of the fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 300/-(Rupees Three Hundred Only) through online mode using net banking or Visa/Master/Maestro/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI. E-admit cards will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee and are entitled to a waiver of the examination fee.
