Indian Coast Guard Group C Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Store Keeper Grade II:
- Essential:
- 12th Pass from a recognized Board or University.One year’s experience in handling stores from any recognized firm or Central or State Government Organization or Public Sector Undertaking.
- Engine Driver:
- Essential:
- Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized Boards.Certificate of competency as an Engine Driver from a recognized Government Institute or equivalent.
- Desirable:
- Two years of service as a Sarang on a Vessel of over four hundred Boat Horse Power.
- Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade):
- Essential:
- 10th Standard pass.Must possess a valid driving license for both heavy and light Motor Vehicles.Should have at least two years of experience in driving Motor Vehicles.Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles).
- Skilled Carpenter:
- Essential:
- Matriculation or equivalent.Should qualify a trade entrance examination.Should have successfully completed an apprenticeship from a recognized/reputed workshop in the relevant trade under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 or under any other recognized Apprenticeship Scheme. ORShould have completed a training course in the relevant trade from an ITI recognized for this purpose and have 1 year of trade experience. OR4 years of experience in the trade for which no training is available in the Industrial Training Institute or other recognized institutions.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (Peon):
- Essential:
- Matriculation or equivalent pass.Two years of experience as an Office Attendant.
- Lascar 1st Class:
- Essential:
- Matriculation or equivalent pass.Three years of service on a Ship or Craft.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (Sweeper/ Safaiwala):
- Essential:
- Matriculation or equivalent pass.Two years of experience in cleanliness in any recognized firm.
Age Limit: (As on 02.10.2023)
- Store Keeper Grade II: 18 to 25 Years
- Engine Driver: 18 to 30 Years
- Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade): 18 to 27 Years
- Skilled Carpenter: 18 to 27 Years
- Multi-Tasking Staff (Peon): 18 to 27 Years
- Lascar 1st Class: 18 to 30 Years
- Multi-Tasking Staff (Sweeper/ Safaiwala): 18 to 27 Years
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s), and for Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules. Candidates’ relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per Government rules. Refer to the Indian Coast Guard official Notification 2023 for more details.

- Store Keeper Grade II: Pay Level – 2 in the pay Matrix
- Engine Driver: Pay Level – 4 in the pay Matrix
- Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade): Pay Level – 2 in the pay Matrix

- Multi-Tasking Staff (Peon): Pay Level – 1 in the pay Matrix
- Lascar 1st Class: Pay Level – 1 in the pay Matrix
