Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Vacancy Details:
The Indian Coast Guard is inviting applications for various Assistant Commandant posts. Here are the details of the available vacancies:

- Technical (Mechanical) (Male) – 20 positions

Eligibility Criteria for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant:
Educational Qualification:
- General Duty (GD):
- Must hold a degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
- Mathematics and Physics should be subjects up to Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. Candidates who have completed graduation after a diploma are also eligible, provided they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
- Commercial Pilot Licence – Short Service Appointment (CPL-SSA)*:
- Should have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. Candidates who have completed a diploma are also eligible, provided they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
- Should possess a current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/validated by Director General Civil Aviation on the date of application submission.
- Technical (Mechanical):
- Should hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial and Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, Aerospace with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognized by the Institutes of Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).

OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognized by the Institutes of Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).

Age Limit:
- General Duty (GD) – 21-25 years as of 01 Jul 2023 (born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002, both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/Air Force)
- Commercial Pilot Licence – Short Service Appointment (CPL-SSA)* – 19-25 years as of 01 Jul 2023 (born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2004, both dates inclusive).
- Technical (Mechanical) – 21-25 years as of 01 Jul 2023 (born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002, both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
- Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) – 21-25 years as of 01 Jul 2023 (born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002, both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
- Law Entry – 21-30 years as of 01 Jul 2023 (born between 01 Jul 1993 & 30 Jun 2002, both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/ Air Force) Candidates will receive age relaxation in accordance with government rules, as specified in the Indian Coast Guard official Notification 2023.
Salary Details:
The promotions to various ranks will be based on the laid-down promotion criteria. The pay scales for the different ranks as per the 7th CPC are as follows:
- Assistant Commandant (10) – Rs.56,100/-
- Deputy Commandant (11) – Rs.67,700/-
- Commandant (JG) (12) – Rs.78,800/-
- Commandant (13) – Rs.1,23,100/-
- Deputy Inspector General (13A) – Rs.1,31,100/-
- Inspector General (14) – Rs.1,44,200/-
- Additional Director General (15) – Rs.1,82,200/-
- Director General (16) – Rs.2,25,000/- Additional pay and allowances will be provided as per the rules and regulations, in addition to the above pay scale.
Selection Process for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant 2023:
The Indian Coast Guard will follow the following selection process:
- Stage-I (CGCAT)
- Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)}
- Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB)
- Stage-IV (Medical Examination)
- Stage-V (Induction)
Based on their performance in Stage-I, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage-II (PSB), which will be conducted for a day at Noida, Mumbai/Goa, Chennai, and Kolkata centers.
Application Fee/Exam Fee for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant:
All candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/Master/Maestro/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI. Admit cards will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee or are entitled to a waiver of the examination fee.
