LPSC ISRO Technical Assistant Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the LPSC ISRO Technical Assistant positions, candidates must meet the following educational qualifications and age limits:
Educational Qualification:
- Technical Assistant – Photography: Candidates must possess a three-year Diploma in Photography / Cinematography with First Class.
- Technical Assistant – Mechanical: Candidates must possess a three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with First Class.
- Technical Assistant – Automobile: Candidates must possess a three-year Diploma in Automobile Engineering with First Class.
- Technical Assistant – Civil: Candidates must possess a three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering with First Class.
Age Limit:
Candidates applying for the above Technical Assistant positions should be no more than 35 years of age as on 30.05.2023. Age relaxation will be provided as per Govt. of India rules.
Salary Details:
The selected candidates will receive a Level 7 salary (Pay Matrix: Rs.44,900/- – Rs.1,42,400/-).

Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre: The Indian Space Research Organization’s Premier Propulsion Centre
The Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) is a premier research and development facility of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) that is dedicated to the design, development, and production of liquid propulsion systems for India’s space program. Located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, LPSC has been instrumental in developing and delivering advanced propulsion systems for India’s space missions for more than four decades.
LPSC was established in 1985 and has since played a significant role in the success of India’s space program. The centre is involved in developing a range of propulsion systems, including liquid engines, thrusters, and cryogenic engines, among others. LPSC’s mission is to develop advanced propulsion systems that are reliable, efficient, and cost-effective for India’s space program, while also contributing to the country’s economic and technological development.
LPSC’s infrastructure includes state-of-the-art facilities for propulsion system development, testing, and qualification. The centre has several test facilities that are critical for the development and testing of liquid propulsion systems. These include the High-Altitude Test Facility, the Liquid Propulsion Test Complex, the Solid Propellant Plant, and the Cryogenic Propulsion Test Facility, among others.
One of the significant contributions of LPSC to India’s space program is the development of the Liquid Propulsion Stage (LPS) for the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), India’s workhorse launch vehicle. The LPS is a cluster of four liquid engines that provide the necessary thrust to place satellites into orbit. The development of LPS has been a major milestone for LPSC and has helped India to achieve self-reliance in satellite launching capabilities.
LPSC has also been involved in the development of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV), India’s first indigenous launch vehicle capable of placing heavy satellites into geostationary orbit. LPSC’s contributions to GSLV include the development of the Liquid Strap-on Booster (LSOB) and the Cryogenic Upper Stage (CUS), which are critical components of the launch vehicle.
In recent years, LPSC has been involved in the development of the Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV), which is expected to be a game-changer in the field of space transportation. The RLV is a spacecraft that is designed to launch into orbit like a conventional rocket and return to Earth to be reused. The development of RLV is a significant challenge, and LPSC is playing a critical role in the project by developing the propulsion systems for the vehicle.
LPSC is also involved in the development of cryogenic engines, which are critical for India’s space program. Cryogenic engines use liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen as fuel and oxidizer, respectively, and provide a higher thrust-to-weight ratio compared to other propulsion systems. LPSC has developed two cryogenic engines, the CUS-15 and the CUS-25, which have been successfully used in the GSLV Mk II and Mk III launch vehicles.
LPSC is committed to contributing to the country’s economic and technological development by transferring its technologies to industries and other organizations. The centre has signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with industries, research organizations, and academic institutions for the transfer of technologies and knowledge. LPSC’s collaborations have led to the development of several commercial products, including cryogenic pumps, valves, and heat exchangers, among others.
LPSC has also been involved in several international collaborations for the development of advanced propulsion systems. The centre has signed MoUs with several international organizations, including the European Space Agency (ESA), the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), among others.
