Madras High Court is inviting applications for the following positions:

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• The candidate should be a graduate in Law (under 10+2+3+3, 10+2+5, 10+2+4+3, or any other recognized pattern at the decision of the committee) from a recognized University in the Indian Union.
• The degree should be recognized by the Bar Council of India for admission as an Advocate or Attorney of an Indian Court.
• Only candidates who have passed all their examinations within the duration of their course are eligible.
• Candidates who obtained their Law Degree not earlier than five years from the date of notification are eligible for the position of Research Law Assistant.
• Candidates pursuing a post-graduate degree in law or any other program requiring compulsory attendance elsewhere are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit: (As on 01.07.2023)

• Research Law Assistant: 30 years (Candidates’ relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per government rules. Refer to the Madras High Court official Notification 2023 for more details.)

Salary Details:

• Research Law Assistant: Rs. 30,000/-

Selection Process: The eligible candidates will undergo a viva voce at the Principal Seat in Chennai or Madurai Bench of Madras High Court.

How to Apply:

• Candidates must print the Application Form from the Official website of the Madras High Court ) and submit their signed applications with full particulars.
• Duly filled applications should be submitted through Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due, superscribed as “Application for the post of Research Law Assistant to the Hon’ble Judges,” and addressed to The Registrar General, High Court, Madras-600 104, on or before 08.12.2023.
• The filled-in Application Form (Soft copy) should also be sent via e-mail at on or before 08.12.2023.
• Candidates should submit their applications through both means (e-mail and post) on or before 08.12.2023. Omission of any one method will result in the rejection of the application.
