Our Field team mirrors the diversity of our users, actively driving the mission to democratize internet commerce for all. Our team comprises Senior Managers/Regional Managers, Program Managers, and a group of City Leads and Business Development Executives.

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic, self-starting, and result-oriented City Lead who possesses strong execution and analytical skills.
As a Category Lead, your main responsibilities will include devising and implementing a plan to scale up suppliers’ businesses in city X, expanding selection, and negotiating the best prices from suppliers.
Additionally, you will play a vital role in enabling the entire team to achieve exceptional performance consistently.

What you will do:
- Scale supplier acquisition in respective city or cities by 10x.
- Expand Meesho’s presence in respective Supply Hubs or offline hubs within or around the city.
- Mentor, motivate, and guide a team of Business Development Executives, instilling Meesho’s values and principles throughout your team.
- Collaborate with central teams to ensure the platform offers the best selection, affordable prices, and high discoverability.
- Develop robust processes for the smooth execution of all operations.
- Compile and evaluate metrics to assess the success of individual and team tasks.
- Scale success metrics of suppliers across the city, considering various supplier-related metrics like Order activation, Dispatch, Deliveries, GMV, and NMV.
- Collaborate with the Regional Manager to achieve 10x targets.
- Take individual ownership in activating B2B only hubs and gathering niche trends in line with the category direction.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the city and state if required, as this role involves fieldwork.
What you will need:
- A graduate degree or MBA with 3 to 5 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, and Supplier acquisition in the e-commerce industry.
- Experience with startups and fast-paced environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and building points of view.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically.
- In-depth understanding of business and customer dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage relevant stakeholders.
- Thorough knowledge of the market and a deep understanding of the respective city and its surroundings.
