Education Qualification: Candidates must have a degree from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission.
This degree should be obtained through the order of studies 10th + HSC or its equivalent + Bachelors Degree Course.
Age Limit: As per the G.O. (Ms) No.91, Human Resources Management (S) Department, dated September 13, 2021, the maximum age limit for direct recruitment has been increased by 2 years, i.e., from 30 to 32 years.
However, there is no maximum age limit, which means the applicant should not have completed 60 years of age either on the date of notification or at the time of selection/appointment to the post.
Applicants who are not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, and BCMs, and have put in five years or more of service in the State/Central Government are not eligible, even if they are within the age limit.
Age Concession: For Ex-Servicemen (“Others”), the maximum age limit is 50 years.
However, this age concession will not apply to Ex-Servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.
Salary Details: The Assistant Jailor position carries a salary of Rs. 35400-130400 (Level-11) (Revised Scale).
Selection Process: The selection process for the TNPSC Assistant Jailor position involves a written exam (objective type) and certificate verification.
Application Fee/Exam Fee: Candidates need to pay a registration fee of Rs. 150 for One Time Registration.
Applicants who have already registered in the One Time online Registration system and within the validity period of 5 years are exempted from this fee.
Additionally, candidates need to pay an examination fee of Rs. 100 at the time of submitting the online application for this recruitment, unless an exemption of the fee is claimed.
To submit an online application for the TNPSC Assistant Jailor post, the fee must be paid through online modes such as net banking, credit card, or debit card before the submission date.
It is mandatory to link the Aadhaar number with the One Time Registration (OTR) process.
The One Time Registration is valid for five years, and after that, the applicant must renew it by paying the prescribed fee.

The failure to pay the prescribed fee in time will result in the rejection of the application after due process.
