NFR Invites Applications for the Following Posts
1. For Headquarters Unit (Maligaon): NFR Sports Person Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Level-2 Or Level-3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission: Must have passed the 12th (+2 stage) or an equivalent examination from a Government-recognized Board/Council/Institution.
- Level-1 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission: Should have a 10th-grade education, ITI, or equivalent qualification, or hold a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Notes:
(i) Educational qualifications must be from a Government-recognized source. The minimum educational qualification should align with the requirements for the respective NTPC posts.
(ii) For Sports Quota appointments in Technician-III, the minimum educational qualification is 10th grade. However, if appointees possess ITI qualifications in the relevant trade, the training period will be reduced to 6 months; otherwise, it will be 3 years.
Period for Reckoning Sports Achievement: To be eligible for recruitment against the Sports Quota through Open Advertisement, sports achievements should be from the current and immediate previous two financial years, and the sports person must be an active player. Achievements in recognized championships/events on or after 01.04.2021 will only be considered. The concluding day of the championships/events will determine the validity of sports achievements.
Sports Norms: The minimum sports norms for recruiting sportspersons under sports quota, categorized by Grade Pay and Pay Bands for both team and individual events, are as follows:
Category-A:
- Olympic Games (Senior Category)
Category-B:
- World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior Category)
- World Championships (Junior/Senior Category)
- Asian Games (Senior Category)
- Commonwealth Games (Senior Category)
- Youth Olympics
- Davis Cup (Tennis)
- Champions Trophy (Hockey)
- Thomas / Uber Cup (Badminton)
Category-C:
- Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior Category)
- Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior Category)
- South Asian Federations (SAF) Games (Senior Category)
- USIC (World Rlys) Championship (Senior Category)
- World University Games
Note: For boxing, achievements in the “Youth” category on or after 25.09.2016 will be considered in place of the “Junior” category.
Age Limit: (As on 01.01.2024)
(a) Minimum age 18 years and maximum age 25 years as of 01-January-2024. No relaxation in upper or lower age limit will be permissible in this recruitment.
(b) Proof of Age: A Matriculation certificate issued by a recognized board or equivalent must be produced/attached.
NFR Sports Person Selection Process 2023:
NFR will follow this process to select candidates:
- Trial of sports performance.
- Interview and assessment of sports achievements, educational qualifications, etc.
Application Fee/Exam Fee for NFR Sports Person:
(i) For all candidates except those mentioned in sub-para (ii) below: Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) only, with a provision for refunding Rs. 400/- to candidates who actually appear in the trial. The IPO should be drawn in favor of PFA/NF Railway, payable at Maligaon Post Office, Guwahati – 781011. Candidates must write their names and full addresses on the IPO.
(ii) For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex. Servicemen, Women, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty) only, with a provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the trial.
Note: Applicants must pay the Application Fee as indicated in the table above through Online Payment Mode Only.
How to apply for NFR Sports Person Post:
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria should use the application format provided at Annexure-A. Fill out the application in your own handwriting on A-4 size plain paper. Attach two recent passport size photographs taken within the last two months, duly self-attested. Do not wear wigs, caps, or colored glasses in the photographs. Sign the application in your own handwriting.
For recruitment in GP Rs.1800 (Pay Band-1/ Level – 1), candidates should submit a single application for a single event. Otherwise, their candidature may be rejected.
For recruitment in GP Rs.1900/Rs. 2000 (Pay Band-1, Level – 2 & 3), candidates who apply for an event in GP Rs. 1900/- are also eligible to apply for an event in GP Rs. 1800/- if desired.
Note: The Railway Administration will decide the allotment of posts/divisions as per administrative requirements.
Applications must be sent through ordinary post addressed to Senior Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Northeast Frontier Railway HQ, Maligaon, Guwahati – 781 011, Assam, OR dropped physically in the APPLICATION DROP BOX in the Recruitment Section at the Office of Pr. Chief Personnel Officer, NF Railway HQ, Maligaon, Guwahati, Assam-781011, on or before 23.10.2023. (For candidates residing in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti Districts, Pangi Sub-Division in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, and Lakshadweep, the last date is 03.11.2023, by post only).
The envelope should be superscribed as “RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA:: EVENT NAME – ………………………… , POSITION…………………….GP Rs………………”.
