ICMR – NIOH Technical Assistant Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

Technical Assistant (Electronics/Electricals): Candidates must have a first-class three years’ Engineering Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized Institute by the Government, with a minimum of two years’ relevant field experience. Alternatively, a first-class B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized University is also acceptable.
Technical Assistant (Chemistry): Applicants should possess a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Chemistry as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technical Assistant (Biochemistry): Candidates should have a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Biochemistry as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technical Assistant (Biomedical): Candidates must hold a first-class three years’ Engineering Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized Institute by the Government, with a minimum of two years’ relevant field experience. Alternatively, a first-class B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized University is also acceptable. A first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Biomedical as the discipline from a recognized University is also valid.
Technical Assistant (Microbiology): Applicants should possess a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Microbiology as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technical Assistant (Toxicology): Candidates should have a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Toxicology/Forensic Science as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technical Assistant (Environmental Science): Candidates must hold a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Environmental Science as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technical Assistant (MLT): Applicants should possess a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Medical Laboratory Technology as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technical Assistant (Physiology): Candidates should have a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physiology as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technical Assistant (Public Health): Applicants must hold a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Public Health as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technical Assistant (Information Technology/Computer Science): Candidates must have a first-class three years’ Engineering Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science from a recognized Institute by the Government, with a minimum of two years’ relevant field experience. Alternatively, a first-class B.E./B.Tech in Information Technology/Computer Science from a recognized University is also acceptable.
Technical Assistant (Physics): Applicants should possess a first-class three years Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics as the discipline from a recognized University.
Technician – 1: Candidates should have passed 12th or intermediate with Science subjects and obtained a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized Board. Additionally, they should have completed a one-year Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT)/Computer/Chemical Technology/Industrial Safety from a government recognized institution.
Laboratory Attendant – 1: Candidates must have passed 10th with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board. They should also have at least one year of working experience in a recognized/approved/registered Laboratory, or possess an ITI certificate in the respective field or trade issued by government agencies.

Technical Assistant (Chemistry) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Biochemistry) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Biomedical) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Microbiology) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Toxicology) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Environmental Science) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (MLT) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Physiology) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Public Health) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Information Technology/Computer Science) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technical Assistant (Physics) – Maximum age of 30 years
Technician – 1 – Maximum age of 28 years
Laboratory Attendant – 1 – Maximum age of 25 years

Note: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and as per the rules of the Government of India for Ex-Servicemen. Candidates belonging to these categories will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as per the Government rules. Candidates are required to submit their applications online by 04.08.2023. Along with the application, an application fee of Rs. 300/- (Three Hundred only) should be paid through online mode. However, SC/ST, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Women candidates, and Ex-Servicemen are exempted from paying the application fee.The application fee is non-refundable and cannot be reserved or transferred for any other examination or selection process.
