NTPC Coal Mining is currently seeking skilled individuals for fixed-term employment (FTE) in various coal mining roles.
These positions are available in the disciplines of Mining Overman, Overman (Magazine), Mechanical Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, Vocational Training Instructor, Mining Sirdar, and Mine Survey.
The number of vacancies for each role is as follows:
- Mining Overman – 5 positions
- Overman (Magazine) – 4 positions
- Mechanical Supervisor – 1 position
- Electrical Supervisor – 1 position
- Vocational Training Instructor – 1 position
- Mine Survey – 1 position
- Mining Sirdar – 2 positions

Education Requirements:
- Mining Overman
Candidates must have a full-time regular diploma in Mining from a reputable institute with a minimum of 60% marks (for SC/ST/Land-oudtee candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required). They should also have an Overman Certificate of Competency under CMR from DGMS for coal (under The Mines Act, 1952). Additionally, a valid First Aid Certificate issued by institutes recognized by DGMS is required.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience.
- Overman (Magazine)
Candidates must have a full-time regular diploma in Mining from a reputable institute with a minimum of 60% marks (for SC/ST/Land-oudtee candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required). They should also have an Overman Certificate of Competency under CMR from DGMS for coal (under The Mines Act, 1952). Additionally, a valid First Aid Certificate issued by institutes recognized by DGMS is required.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience.
- Mechanical Supervisor
Candidates must have a full-time regular diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering from a reputable institute with a minimum of 60% marks (for SC/ST/Land-ouStee candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required).

- Electrical Supervisor
Candidates must have a full-time regular diploma in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a reputable institute with a minimum of 60% marks (for SC/ST/Land-oudtee candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required).
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience.
- Vocational Training Instructor
Candidates must have a full-time regular diploma in Mining from a reputable institute with a minimum of 60% marks (for SC/ST/Land-ougtee candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required). They should also have an Overman Certificate of Competency under CMR from DGMS for coal (under The Mines Act, 1952). Additionally, a valid First Aid Certificate issued by institutes recognized by DGMS is required.

- Mine Survey
Candidates must have a full-time regular diploma in Mine Survey/Diploma in Mining Engineering/Diploma in Mining & Mine Surveying from a reputable institute with a minimum of 60% marks (for SC/ST/Land-ougtee candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required). They should also have a Survey Competency Certificate issued by DGMS.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience.
- Mining Sirdar
Candidates must have an Inter/12th Class Certificate from a reputable institute with a minimum of 60% marks (for SC/ST/Land-ougtee candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is required). They should also have a valid Sirdar Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS for Coal (under The Mines Act, 1952) and a valid First Aid Certificate issued by institutes recognized by DGMS.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience.
Minimum Age Requirement:
To be eligible for the following positions at NTPC Limited, candidates must be at least 25 years old:
- Mining Overman
- Overman (Magazine)
- Mechanical Supervisor
- Electrical Supervisor
- Vocational Training Instructor
- Mine Survey
- Mining Sirdar
However, candidates may be provided with relaxation in the upper age limit as per government rules. For more information, please refer to the official notification for 2023.
Emoluments and Service Conditions:
Successful candidates will receive the following monthly emoluments and compensation:
(A) Consolidated fixed monthly pay of INR 50,000/- for all trades except Mining Sirdar. (B) Consolidated fixed monthly pay of INR 40,000/- for Mining Sirdar. Additionally, medical facilities for the candidate, their spouse, and two children, as well as HRA/company accommodation (if available), will be provided according to company rules. On official tours, the company will reimburse applicable TA/DA.
The duration of engagement is three years, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs and satisfactory performance.
Selection Process for NTPC Limited Supervisor in 2023:
NTPC Limited may use the following process to select candidates:
- Written Exam
- Skill/Competency Test
Application Fee/Exam Fee for NTPC Limited Supervisor:
Candidates belonging to the General/EWS/OBC category must pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 300/-. However, SC/ST/PwBD/XSM category and female candidates are exempt from paying the registration fee.
Payment can be made in online or offline mode.
For offline payment, State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the registration fee in a specially opened account (A/C No. 30987919993) at CAG Branch, New Delhi (Code: 09996), on behalf of NTPC.
Candidates must approach a nearby SBI branch with a printout of the “pay-in-slip” available on the application registration portal.
The pay-in-slip printed from the portal should only be used for depositing the fee to ensure proper crediting of the amount in the allocated account.
Upon receipt of the money, the bank will issue a unique Journal Number and Branch Code of the bank collecting the money, which candidates must fill up during online registration.
NTPC will not be responsible if a candidate deposits the fee in the wrong account.
For online payment, candidates can pay the fees through net banking, debit card (Rupay debit cards only), or credit card.
The online payment option will be available on the website. Candidates must make the payment before proceeding with the online application.
After successful payment, candidates must fill up the Challan number, Bank Reference No., date of payment, etc., in the online application.
How to Apply for NTPC Limited Supervisor Post:
Candidates who meet all of the above criteria must apply online only through the link provided on the NTPC Limited website in the careers webpage under the current openings section from 10:00 AM on 19.04.2023 to 11:59 PM on 05.05.2023.
No other mode of application will be accepted.
