BECIL Manager Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. Manager – IP & Technology Transfer:

• Essential: B.Tech. or MSc. (Engineering, Science, or Policy disciplines)
  • Desirable: Additional qualifications like M.Tech, MBA, or PhD
  • Experience:

• More than six years of relevant experience in program management, business development, innovation promotion, startup support, incubation and pre-incubation, policy design and implementation, technology management, IP commercialization in an R&D, academic, innovation setup, development sector, or industry, etc.Responsible for achieving the overall goals and targets of HUB as set by the Headquarters.Managing the team at Indovation Centre and overseeing the operation of HUB and SPOKE setup.Operational roles such as technology transfer, project management, financial reporting, compliances, contracts, documentation, and administration at HUB level.Onboarding regional stakeholders and collaborating with industries, startups, government, knowledge agencies, and associations at the zonal/state level.Designing and organizing conferences and workshops on a regular basis.Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship activities in HEIs.Streamlining incubation and pre-incubation systems in HEIs.Relationship/stakeholder management, publicity, and communication.Building and managing an IP repository, technology compendium at the HUB level.Conducting market assessments of identified technologies, stakeholder mapping, and organizing industry meets.

• Dy. Manager – Innovation Development:

• Essential: B.Tech. or MSc (Engineering or Science disciplines)
  • Desirable: Additional qualification in management or law or patent agentship
  • Experience:

• More than three years’ experience in IP development & commercialization, technology transfer, business development, etc., in a research or academic environment or in a technology transfer/incubator office/research park, etc.Providing opinions/advice on IPR matters to HEIs.Networking, stakeholder liaison, and HUB-SPOKE operation plan implementation.Conducting policy research, analysis, and document/report development.Developing communication materials for IP and technology transfer-related activities.Designing and implementing capacity-building programs, training, etc., on a regular basis.Assisting institutional resources in managing IPRs and technology transfer assignments in SPOKE institutions.Supporting in market assessment of identified technologies, stakeholder mapping, and coordination.Building and managing an IP repository, technology compendium development at the HUB level.Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in HEIs.Streamlining incubation and pre-incubation systems in HEIs.Assisting the manager and guiding Innovation Fellow and other team members at the center.

• Innovation Fellow:

• Essential: A 4-year graduate degree in science/engineering or MSc or MBA.
  • Experience: Strong interest and some experience in IPR, technology licensing, innovation programs, startup promotion, business development, industry interface, etc.Performing techno-commercial feasibility studies of identified technologies.Managing various contracts/agreements.Guiding innovators and scientists in matters related to IP and technology commercialization.Collaborating with regional stakeholders including startups, IP firms, incubators, industry, and knowledge agencies.Organizing and coordinating events, meetings, mentor clinics, investor rounds in the region.Contributing to the development of promotional/presentation material for outreach.Designing and implementing a social media strategy.Promoting IPR and incubation (ideation, innovation, and startup activities) in the region.
  • Supporting Manager and Dy. Manager in the implementation of HUB-SPOKE operation plan and managing the program implementation team at the center.

Salary Details:

1. Manager – IP & Technology Transfer – Rs. 1,25,000/-
2. Dy. Manager – Innovation Development – Rs. 1,00,000/-
3. Innovation Fellow – Rs. 70,000/-

BECIL Manager Selection Process 2023:

BECIL will follow the following process to select candidates:

1. Skill Test
2. Interview

Application Fee/Exam Fee for BECIL Manager:

• Gen/ OBC – Rs. 885/- (Rs. 590/- extra for every additional post applied)
• ST/SC/Ex-s/PWD – Rs. 531/- (Rs. 354/- extra for every additional post applied)
