CSIR-CECRI Scientist Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification: (As of 31st July 2023)

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience: Candidates must have submitted their Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Sciences.
Desirable Experience: Research and Development (R&D) experience supported by publications in SCI Journals or patents in the following areas:
(i) Electrochemical water treatment processes and removal of organic/inorganic contaminants.
(ii) Electrolytic processes involving electrocatalytic approach for hydrogen generation through water electrolysis.
(iii) Corrosion aspects and mitigation methods.
(iv) Synthesis, fabrication, evaluation, and scale-up activities of energy storage systems such as Li-ion, Na-ion, and new generation rechargeable batteries, as well as supercapacitors.
(v) Development of processes for specialty chemicals and coating techniques, particularly electroplating and electrometallurgy processes.
(vi) Electrochemical synthesis of organic molecules with unique selectivity towards oxidation, reduction, and functionalization.

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience: Candidates must have submitted their Ph.D. in Physics or Physical Sciences.
Desirable Experience: R&D experience demonstrated by publications in SCI Journals or patents in the field of electrochemical science and technology, particularly in the following areas:
(i) Corrosion analysis and protection methods. (ii) Designing and validation of energy storage systems. (iii) Development of surface coatings using electrochemical, vapor deposition, and thermal spraying techniques. (iv) Renewable energy harvesting systems.

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience: Candidates must have an M.E./M.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering.
Desirable Experience: R&D experience in the field of electrochemical technology supported by SCI Journals/publications/patents/technology in the following areas:
(i) Corrosion analysis and mitigation techniques. (ii) Design and modeling of electrochemical energy conversion and storage systems. (iii) Development of high throughput catalyst materials for electrochemical applications. (iv) Electrochemical reactor design, scale-up, and process optimization for chemical synthesis, drinking water, and wastewater treatment.

- S2301 – Scientist: Maximum 32 years
- S2302 – Scientist: Maximum 35 years
- S2303 – Scientist: Maximum 37 years
- S2304 – Scientist: Maximum 37 years
- S2305 – Scientist: Maximum 32 years
- S2306 – Scientist: Maximum 42 years
- S2307 – Scientist: Maximum 32 years
- S2308 – Scientist: Maximum 37 years
- S2309 – Scientist: Maximum 32 years
- S2310 – Scientist: Maximum 32 years
- S2311 – Scientist: Maximum 37 years
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and for Ex-Servicemen as per the Government of India rules. Candidates’ relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided according to the Government rules. Please refer to the CSIR-CECRI official Notification 2023 for more details.
Salary Details:
- Scientist: Rs. 67,700/- Level-11
CSIR-CECRI Scientist Selection Process 2023:
i) Selection procedure for the Scientist: Candidates recommended by the Screening Committee will be invited for an interview or any other mode decided by the Screening Committee. ii) Screening Test: A preliminary screening written test consisting of multiple-choice questions may be conducted, if required, as per the decision of the Screening Committee, to limit the number of candidates called for an interview for any of the posts.

a. The candidate has to pay an application fee of Rs. 500/- through Net Banking only (Payment of fee through Mobile Banking should be avoided as it does not match the banker’s transaction reference number) to the following account.
