CSL Workmen Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

Sheet Metal Worker:

Pass in SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Sheet Metal Worker or Fitter.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in fabrication, including cutting, fit-up, and welding processes.
Welder:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Welder/Welder (Gas & Electric).
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Fitter:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Fitter.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Mechanic Diesel:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Mechanic Diesel.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Mechanic Motor Vehicle:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Mechanic Motor Vehicle.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Plumber:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Plumber.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Painter:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Painter.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Electrician:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Electrician.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Electronic Mechanic:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Electronic Mechanic.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Instrument Mechanic:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Instrument Mechanic.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.
Shipwright Wood:

Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC in the trade of Shipwright Wood or Carpenter.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience/training in the relevant trade.

Age Limit: (As of 28.07.2023)

Sheet Metal Worker – Not exceeding 30 years
Welder – Not exceeding 30 years
Fitter – Not exceeding 30 years
Mechanic Diesel – Not exceeding 30 years
Mechanic Motor Vehicle – Not exceeding 30 years
Plumber – Not exceeding 30 years
Painter – Not exceeding 30 years
Electrician – Not exceeding 30 years
Electronic Mechanic – Not exceeding 30 years
Instrument Mechanic – Not exceeding 30 years
Shipwright Wood – Not exceeding 30 years

The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and for Ex-Servicemen as per the Government of India rules. Candidates can refer to the CSL official Notification 2023 for more details.

Salary Details:

The salary details for the respective trades are as follows:

Sheet Metal Worker – 1st year: Rs. 23,300/-, 2nd year: Rs. 24,000/-, 3rd year: Rs. 24,800/-
Welder – 1st year: Rs. 23,300/-, 2nd year: Rs. 24,000/-, 3rd year: Rs. 24,800/-
Fitter – 1st year: Rs. 23,300/-, 2nd year: Rs. 24,000/-, 3rd year: Rs. 24,800/-
Mechanic Diesel – 1st year: Rs. 23,300/-, 2nd year: Rs. 24,000/-, 3rd year: Rs. 24,800/-
Mechanic Motor Vehicle – 1st year: Rs. 23,300/-, 2nd year: Rs. 24,000/-, 3rd year: Rs. 24,800/-
Plumber – 1st year: Rs. 23,300/-, 2nd year: Rs. 24,000/-, 3rd year: Rs. 24,800/-
Painter – 1st year: Rs. 23,300/-, 2nd year: Rs. 24,000/-, 3rd year: Rs. 24,800/-
Electrician – 1st year: Rs. 23,300/-, 2nd year: Rs. 24,000/-, 3rd year: Rs. 24,800/-

CSL Workmen Selection Process 2023:

The selection process for CSL Workmen may include the following stages:

Phase I: Objective type online Test
Phase II: Practical Test

Application Fee/Exam Fee for CSL Workmen:

(i) An application fee of ₹ 600/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges extra) should be paid through the online payment options (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking/Wallets/UPI, etc.). The payment can be made through the Online application facility from 14 July 2023 to 28 July 2023. No other mode of payment will be accepted.

(ii) Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from paying the application fee.

(iii) All applicants except SC/ST/PwBD candidates should pay the application fee as mentioned above. The candidature will be considered only upon receipt of the application fee.

(i) Applicants should visit the website (Career page → CSL, Kochi) and access the link for the online application. The application process consists of two phases: Registration and Submission of the application. Each applicant should submit only one application for the same post. Once the application is submitted, it will be considered final.

(ii) Applicants who meet the specified requirements should read the instructions on the online application page, complete the Registration, and submit their application online through the provided facility on the website (Career page → CSL, Kochi). Applications submitted directly or through any other mode will not be accepted.
