DCIL Project Consultant Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the various positions available at DCIL as Project Consultants, Information Technology Consultant, Legal Consultant, Resident Manager, and Assistant Company Secretary, candidates must meet the following educational and experience qualifications:
- Project Manager for Inland Dredging Works: Candidates must possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Additionally, they must have at least 6 years of experience in planning, monitoring, and execution of dredging projects, preferably in inland waterway/river dredging. Out of the 6 years of experience, a minimum of 2 years must be in the role of Project Manager or Project In-Charge.
- Hydrographic Surveyor for Inland Dredging Works: Candidates must possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. They must have at least 2 years of experience as a hydrographic surveyor, with preference given to those with experience in inland waterway/river dredging.
- Project Consultants (Operations/ Projects): Candidates must have a Master (FG) COC or Dredge Master Gr.I COC and at least 6 years of post-qualification experience in shipping procedures, execution of projects, contracts, etc.
- Information Technology Consultant: Candidates must have an Engineering Graduate or MCA qualification and at least 8 years of post-qualification experience in networking and applications development, as well as ERP implementation. Preference will be given to those with knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (Axapta).
- Legal Consultant: Candidates must have a 1st or 2nd class degree in law from a recognized university and at least 10 years of experience as a practicing lawyer or working in a legal department. Experience in handling arbitration cases and service matters is desirable.
- Resident Manager: Candidates must possess a 1st class graduate degree from a recognized university, preferably with an MBA. Additionally, they must have at least 10 years of post-qualification experience, out of which 3 years must be in an executive role dealing with matters relating to obtaining clearance/liaison work from/with various Ministries/Government Departments, obtaining passports/visas/passes and completion of emigration formalities, RBI clearance of foreign exchange/public relations, etc.
- Assistant Company Secretary: Candidates must be a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and have at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience working in a Board Secretariat as a Company Secretary/Asst. Secretary. Preference will be given to those with experience working in a listed company.
Age Requirements:
- Inland Dredging Works Project Manager – Applicants must be under 45 years of age.
- Hydrographic Surveyor for Inland Dredging Works – Candidates should be under 45 years of age.
- Project Consultants (Operations/ Projects) – Candidates up to 50 years of age are eligible to apply.
- Information Technology Consultant – Applicants up to 45 years of age are eligible to apply.
- Legal Consultant – Candidates up to 45 years of age are eligible to apply.
- Resident Manager – Applicants up to 45 years of age are eligible to apply.
- Assistant Company Secretary – Candidates up to 45 years of age are eligible to apply.
Upper age limit relaxation will be provided as per government rules. Refer to the DCIL official notification 2023 for more information.
Salary Details:
- Inland Dredging Works Project Manager – Consolidated salary of Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 65,000/-
- Hydrographic Surveyor for Inland Dredging Works – Consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 40,000/-
- Project Consultants (Operations/ Projects) – Consolidated salary of Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 1,25,000/-
- Information Technology Consultant – Consolidated salary of Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 1,25,000/-
- Legal Consultant – Consolidated salary of Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 70,000/-
- Resident Manager – Consolidated salary of Rs. 50,000/- to a maximum of Rs. 65,000/-
- Assistant Company Secretary – Consolidated salary of Rs. 40,000/- to a maximum of Rs. 60,000/-
The DCIL Project Consultant Selection Process for 2023 involves several steps to ensure that the best candidate is chosen for the position.
First, the shortlisting process will be based on the information and declaration submitted by each applicant.
Then, candidates, except for the Hydrographic Surveyor on a contract basis for Inland Dredging works, will be selected based on their performance in a personal interview.
For the Hydrographic Surveyor position, candidates will be chosen based on their skill test results. Shortlisted candidates will be informed of the exact date and venue for the personal interview/skill test in due course.
