Indian Coast Guard MTS & Driver Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Civilian Motor Transport Driver (OG) –
(i) Must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.
(ii) Should possess a valid driving license for both Heavy and Light motor vehicles.
(iii) Must have a minimum of 02 years of experience in driving motor vehicles.
(iv) Knowledge of motor mechanism and the ability to repair minor defects in vehicles.
- Motor Transport Fitter (Mech) –
(i) Must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.
(ii) Should have at least two years of experience in an automobile workshop.
Desirable: Possession of an I.T.I. diploma in the relevant trade.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Motor Transport Cleaner) –
(i) Must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.
(ii) Should have a minimum of two years of experience in a mechanical workshop.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Mali) –
(i) Must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.
(ii) Should have at least two years of experience as a Mali in any nursery or organization.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Peon) –
(i) Must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.
(ii) Should have a minimum of two years of experience as an office attendant.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Sweeper) –
(i) Must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.
(ii) Should have a minimum of two years of experience in cleaning ships in any recognized firm.
Age Limit: (As on 14.08.2023)
- Civilian Motor Transport Driver (OG) – Between 18 to 27 years of age.
- Motor Transport Fitter (Mech) – Between 18 to 27 years of age.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Motor Transport Cleaner) – Between 18 to 27 years of age.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Mali) – Between 18 to 27 years of age.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Peon) – Between 18 to 27 years of age.
- Multi Tasking Staff (Sweeper) – Between 18 to 27 years of age.
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and for Ex-Servicemen as per the rules of the Government of India. Candidates will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as per Government rules. Please refer to the Indian Coast Guard official Notification 2023 for more information.

The Indian Coast Guard may follow the following process to select candidates:

How to apply for Indian Coast Guard MTS & Driver Post:
The application form should be filled in English or Hindi as per the prescribed format given in Annexure-I. The application with a duly affixed self-attested color photograph should be accompanied by photocopies of the following documents, duly self-attested with name and date:
(a) Valid Photo ID proof (as mentioned in the application).
(b) Matriculation or equivalent mark sheet and certificate.
(c) Diploma/Industrial Training Institute (ITI) mark sheets and certificate for the qualification of MT Fitter (Mech).
(d) Latest Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS) for reserved category candidates.
(e) Experience Certificate as mentioned in para 1 above.
(f) NOC from the employer for candidates presently serving in any government organization (if applicable).
(g) Two latest passport size color photographs.
(h) Applicants are required to enclose a separate blank envelope with a Rs. 50/- postal stamp (pasted on the envelope) addressed to themselves with the application.
