WII MTS & Assistant Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): Candidates must have completed High School from a recognized Board (State/Central).
- Assistant Grade – III: a) Candidates must have completed 10+2/XII or its equivalent from a recognized Board. b) Direct Recruitment will be through a written competitive examination of 60 marks. c) Candidates must have a typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi typing on a computer, which carries 40 marks.
- Technician: a) Candidates must have completed SSC/10th standard with 50% marks in the aggregate from a recognized Board (State/Central). b) Candidates must possess an IT certificate of 2 years duration in the relevant trade OR c) Candidates must have completed SSSC/HSC/12th in science with 60% marks in aggregate in the relevant field.
- Technical Assistant (Field): a) Candidates must have a 1st class B.Sc (Science)/1st class Bachelor of Library science or equivalent degree OR b) Candidates must have a 1st class diploma in Engineering/Technology of 3 years full-time duration or its equivalent.
- Assistant Director (OL): a) Candidates must have a Master’s Degree of a recognized university in Hindi/English with English/Hindi as a compulsory elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level OR b) Candidates must have a Master’s Degree of a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi/English with Hindi/English medium and English/Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level OR c) Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree of a recognized university with Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects or either of the two as the medium of examination and the other subject as a compulsory elective subject, plus a recognized diploma/certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central/State Government officers including GOI undertakings.
- Senior Technical Officer: a) Candidates must have a 1st class B.Sc (Science)/1st class Bachelor of Library science or equivalent degree with 11 years of experience in the relevant field OR b) Candidates must have a 1st class diploma in Engineering/Technology of 3 years full-time duration or its equivalent with 12 years of experience in the relevant field OR c) Candidates must have an M.Sc or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks OR d) Candidates must have a B.E/B.Tech. or equivalent degree with 9 years of experience in the relevant field.
Age Limit: (As on 30.06.2023)
- Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): 18 years to 27 years
- Assistant Grade – III: 18 years to 27 years
- Technician: 18 years to 28 years
- Technical Assistant (Field): 18 years to 28 years
- Assistant Director (OL): 18 years to 27 years
- Senior Technical Officer: Below 40 years
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs & 13 years for OBC PWDs), and for Ex-Servicemen as per the Government of India rules. Candidates’ relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per Government rules. For more details, refer to the WII official Notification 2023.
Salary Details:
- Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): Level-1
- Assistant Grade – III: Level-2
- Technician: Level-2
- Technical Assistant (Field): Level-6
- Assistant Director (OL): Level-10

WII MTS & Assistant Selection Process 2023: The selection process for WII MTS & Assistant may include the following steps:
- Written Examination
- Proficiency Test
Application Fee/Exam Fee for WII MTS & Assistant: Candidates need to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 700/- (Rs. 500/- application fee + Rs. 200/- processing fee) through a Demand Draft or Pay order from any nationalized bank drawn in favor of Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. The application fee can only be paid through these modes, and no other mode of payment is acceptable. The SC/ST/PWD and all female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee of Rs. 500/- for reserved posts. However, they are required to pay a processing fee of Rs. 200/- only through a Demand Draft or Pay Order from any nationalized bank drawn in favor of Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
How to Apply for WII MTS & Assistant Post: Interested eligible Indian citizen candidates can submit their applications to “The Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.” The last date for the receipt of the application is 10.07.2023. Applications received after the closing date will not be entertained under any circumstances. The Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss during the postal transit. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be 10.07.2023. However, the last date for the receipt of applications from abroad and those from Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, State/Union Territories in the Northeastern region, Ladakh, Pangi sub-Division of Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh is 17.07.2023.
