Eligibility Criteria for NWR Sports Person:
Minimum Sports & Educational Qualifications:
Pay Level 4/5 (GP 2,400/2,800): A. Represented the country in the Olympic Games (Senior Category) OR B. Achieved at least 3rd position representing the Country in any of the following:
- World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior)
- World Championships (Junior/Senior)
- Asian Games (Senior)
- Commonwealth Games (Senior)
- Youth Olympics
- Thomas/Uber Cup (Badminton)
Pay Level 2/3 (GP 1,900/2,000): A. Represented the country in the Olympic Games (Senior Category) OR B. Represented the Country in any of the following:
- World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior)
- World Championships (Junior/Senior)
- Asian Games (Senior)
- Commonwealth Games (Senior)
- Youth Olympics
- Thomas/Uber Cup (Badminton) OR C. Represented the country in any of the following and achieved at least 3rd position:
- Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior)
- Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior)
- South Asian Federations (SAF) Games (Senior)
- USIC (World Railways) Championships (Senior)
- World University Games OR D. Represented a State or equivalent unit and achieved at least 3rd Position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships OR E. Represented a State and achieved at least 3rd position in National Games organized under the Indian Olympic Association OR F. Represented a University and achieved at least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the Association of Indian Universities OR G. Achieved 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
Pay Level 1 (GP 1800): A. Represented the country in Olympic Games (Senior Category) OR B. Represented the country in any of the following:
- World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior)
- World Championships (Junior/Senior)
- Asian Games (Senior)
- Commonwealth Games (Senior)
- Youth Olympics OR C. Represented the country in any of the following:
- Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior)
- Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior)
- South Asian Federations (SAF) Games (Senior)
- USIC (World Railways) Championships (Senior)
- World University Games OR D. Represented a State or equivalent unit and achieved at least 3rd Position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships OR E. Represented a State and achieved at least 3rd position in National Games organized under the aegis of Indian Olympic Association OR F. Represented a University and achieved at least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities OR G. Represented in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category) and achieved at least 3rd position OR H. Represented a State or equivalent unit, except in Marathon and Cross country, with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships only.
Period of Reckoning Sports Achievements: Only those Sportspersons who have acquired the sports achievements and eligibility norms in the championship on or after 01/04/2021 and are active will be eligible to apply for appointment under the Sports Quota. The concluding day of the championship/event will be taken into account for the validity of sports achievements.
(B) Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess the required academic qualification as outlined below when applying in response to the notification. Those who are awaiting results of final examinations or appearing for them are not eligible.
- Pay Level 4 (GP 2,400): 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent from a recognized Board/University. A skill test with a dictation speed of 80 W.P.M., duration time 10 minutes, and transcription time of 50 minutes (English) and 65 minutes (Hindi) is required for the post of Jr. Stenographer.
- Pay Level 2/3 (GP 1,900/2,000): 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University OR a pass in Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board along with an ITI certificate, which may also be eligible for the position of Tech-III OR a pass in Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board, which may also be eligible for the position of Tech – III.
- Pay Level 1 (GP 1,800): Matriculation (10th pass) or ITI or equivalent.
Age Limit: (As on 01.01.2024)
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 25 years old as of 01.01.2024. This means they must have been born between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2006. No age relaxation (upper or lower age limit) will be granted. Note: A 10th/Matriculation Certificate or Equivalent Educational Certificate with the date of birth is mandatory; otherwise, the application will be rejected.
Selection Process for NWR Sports Person 2023:
The selection process will include Document Verification, performance in Sports Trials, assessment of sports achievements, and educational qualifications. Selection for Headquarter Quota vacancies will be conducted by North Western Railway, Headquarter, Jaipur, and for Division/Workshop Quota vacancies, by respective Division/Workshop.
Application Fee/Exam Fee for NWR Sports Person:
(i) For All Candidates except those mentioned in sub-Para (ii) below – Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) with a provision for refunding of Rs.400/- (Rupees Four Hundred) to those candidates who actually appear in the trial.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/Minorities* & Economically Backward Classes** – 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) with a provision for refunding the same to those candidates who actually appear in the trial.
Note: Applicants must pay the Application Fee as indicated in the table above through Online Payment Mode Only.
