TIFR Clerk Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

  1. Scientific Officer (B) [Archives]:

Qualification & Experience:

  • Full-time Master’s degree in Science (M.Sc/M.S.) from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 60% marks, OR
  • Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 60% marks.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working in any reputed Archives, Art Collection, or Museum.

Desirable Qualification and Experience:

  • Diploma in “Record Management” or “Archives Management” from the National Archives of India or its equivalent, OR
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Modern and Contemporary Indian Art & Curatorial Studies, OR
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Museology and Conservation.
  • Administrative Assistant (B):

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 55% marks.
  • Proficiency in word processing, database management, and accounting procedures.
  • 5 years of experience in Accounts/Purchase/Stores in a large and reputed organization.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Commerce Graduate/CA/ICWA Inter.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in Audit, Income Tax, GST, Government Rules & Regulations, etc.
  • Proficiency in Excel.

Qualification & Experience: (a) Must have passed S.S.C. or an equivalent examination from a Central/State Board. (b) Possess a minimum of one year of experience in office work.

Desirable Qualification: Proficient in typing.

  1. Project Scientific Officer (C) –

Qualification & Experience: (a) Hold a full-time degree in M.Sc. Electronics with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks from a recognized university/institute. OR (b) Hold a full-time degree in B.E./B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks from a recognized university/institute. Desirable: Candidates with relevant field experience will be given preference.

  1. Library Trainee –

Qualification: (a) Must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized University/Institute, preferably in Science. (b) Possess a B.Lib. degree from a recognized University/Institute. (Candidates who have appeared for the final exam/semester of Library Science and are awaiting results can also apply.)

Age Limit: (As of January 1, 2023)

  1. Scientific Officer (B) [Archives]: Maximum age of 28.
  2. Administrative Assistant (B): Maximum age of 33.
  3. Administrative Assistant (B): Maximum age of 38.
  4. Clerk (A): Maximum age of 28.
  5. Clerk (A): Maximum age of 38.
  6. Clerk (A): Maximum age of 28.
  7. Clerk (A): Maximum age of 28.
  8. Clerk (A): Maximum age of 28.
  9. Clerk (A): Maximum age of 31.
  10. Clerk (A): Maximum age of 28.
  11. Work Assistant: Maximum age of 28.
  12. Project Scientific Officer (C): Maximum age of 28.
  13. Library Trainee: Maximum age of 28.

The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWDs and 13 years for OBC PWDs), and for Ex-Servicemen as per the rules of the Government of India.

Candidates will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as per Government rules. Please refer to the TIFR official notification 2023 for more details.
