These candidates are invited to participate in a one-year Apprenticeship training program in accordance with the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.

Eligibility Criteria for TNSTC Apprentice:
Educational Qualification:
A. Category – I Engineering Graduate Apprentices:
- A regular, full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology with First Class from a Statutory University in a relevant discipline.
- A regular, full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology with First Class from an Institution empowered to grant such a degree by an Act of Parliament in a relevant discipline.
- Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the above.
B. Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
- A regular, full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in a relevant discipline.
- A regular, full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in a relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the above.
C. Category – III Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices:
- A regular, full-time Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or Humanities such as BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BBA, BCA, etc., with First Class granted by a Statutory University or Deemed University in a relevant discipline (UGC approved).
Age Limit: The age limit will be as per Apprenticeship Rules.
Stipend:
- Engineering Graduate Apprentices – Rs. 9000/- per month
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentice Trainee – Rs. 8000/- per month
- Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices – Rs. 9000/- per month
Selection Process for TNSTC Apprentice 2023:
The Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) is responsible for shortlisting candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained in the relevant qualification. Shortlisted candidates will receive notifications via their registered email addresses. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend Certificate Verification at the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) Training Centre, Chrompet (MTC Depot II Campus), Chennai – 44.
