Alter Domus is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Officer to join our Cork team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our client relationships by ensuring compliance with company secretarial and governance procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of the financial services industry, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Job Responsibilities

The Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

Client Onboarding and Due Diligence

• Conducting thorough reviews of deal agreements and Know Your Customer (KYC) documents for new investments and borrowers.
• Proactively following up with clients and their representatives to obtain missing KYC information.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date KYC records in the company’s database and electronic document management system.
• Performing ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews of investments and related transactions to identify potential risks.

Regulatory Compliance

• Staying informed about Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) legislation and directives.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of CDD procedures.
• Ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
• Interpreting risk ratings and conducting independent investigations as needed.

Team Collaboration and Support

• Working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve desired outcomes.
• Utilizing strong influencing skills to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Developing and delivering training materials to support new team members.
• Providing input on process improvements and enhancing team efficiency.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A degree in law, business, finance, or economics is preferred.
• Prior experience in the financial services or fund services industry is advantageous.
• A strong understanding of AML/CTF regulations and compliance requirements.
• A keen interest in regulatory and compliance matters.
• Fluency in English, with additional language skills considered a plus.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• A problem-solving mindset and the ability to think critically.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of legal entity structures (domestic and international).
• A results-oriented approach with the ability to work independently.
