As we grow, we’re looking for a dedicated Cloud FinOps Analyst to join our customer-facing FinOps team. In this role, you will work directly with clients to analyze their cloud infrastructure, identifying and implementing cost optimization strategies without compromising performance or security. The position requires a highly analytical mindset, a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Cloud FinOps Analyst, your main responsibility will be to support our customers in optimizing their cloud costs while aligning these efforts with their overall business objectives. The tasks will include:

• Cost Optimization Support: Assist customers in understanding their cloud expenses and provide strategies for cost optimization that align with their business goals.
• Data-Driven Analysis: Offer insights and recommendations based on data-driven analysis to both customers and internal teams, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various departments, including Sales, Finance, and Engineering, to provide the best possible support to clients. This collaboration will help streamline efforts and ensure consistent communication across teams.
• Cloud Financial Management Consulting: Lead regular calls with customers, offering expert advice and guidance on managing their cloud finances. Your consulting role will be pivotal in maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Quantitative Financial Models: Analyze large datasets and produce financial models that track spending, forecast future costs, and measure key performance metrics such as efficiency and savings.
• Cloud Cost Optimization Tools Management: Configure and manage various cloud cost optimization tools, ensuring that customers are maximizing their savings and getting the most out of their cloud infrastructure.
• Internal Documentation: Create and maintain documentation that captures FinOps processes, customer environments, and optimization strategies for future reference and training.

Essential Requirements:

• Analytical Expertise: A strong analytical background is necessary, especially when working with large datasets to derive meaningful insights. Your ability to break down complex information into actionable strategies will be critical.
• Cloud Infrastructure Knowledge: Experience with at least one of the major cloud providers—AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)—is essential, particularly with their billing and cost management tools.
• Cloud Cost Optimization Tools: Proficiency with third-party cloud cost optimization tools like CloudCheckr, CloudHealth, or Cloudability will give you an edge in maximizing savings for clients.
• Excel Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel are a must, as you will use it frequently for financial modeling and data analysis.
• Cloud Services and Architectures Knowledge: A deep understanding of the services, architectures, and tools offered by AWS, Azure, or GCP is also required. This expertise will enable you to provide the best possible guidance on how clients can optimize their cloud usage.
